Watched it last night and had the mehhh ! feeling afterwards when I should have been in awe of the game.

Both penalties given imo were nonsense decisions. Diving all over the place with one team way more at it than the other.

Some amount of nonsense about the last pass in to the square for the goal at the end. Imo just a dink into the box with the PSG playing a shambolic offside line. Nice pass but not the sublime pass it was made out to be . Imo of course.

Eoghan O Gara having 4 All Ireland medals reminds me of those jokes of obscure Man United players ..e.g. Luke Chadwick having premier league medals and then players like Gerrard having none...

Have great time for Eoghan. Minority of one maybe , but think he is hugely underrated as a footballer. Mightn't come across as the most elegant of footballers but has been hugely effective for us many a time in the job I think he was there to do. Has had poor games as well I can accept . Alot of Dublin fans don't rate him which I think is harsh.

Don't really want to come across as spiteful, but he caused Mayo no end of trouble in the 2013 AIF if memory serves me right . Many other counties would love to have had him.

Will remember him fondly for that goal v Tyrone  that threw that monkey off our back.

Not sure by the way that he has 4 AI medals, think he missed one through injury.

Seen T2 at the weekend. Ok as a film in itself, much better because it is  an add on to the original if that makes sense. Glad I went to see it .

Thought crowd of 28k was quiet good given the conditions. Understandably very few kids there. As miserable and cold a night as I ever sat through in CP.

The way Scotland celebrated at the end of a deserved victory, you'd think they just managed to beat the All Blacks. I suppose that's what years of getting whacked by Italy will do to you.

In fairness to Scotland, they have managed to win a knockout game  ( maybe 2) in the World Cup,something Ireland haven't managed to do in 30 odd years.

Echo what has been said about Glory. As good a war film that has ever been made. Three Kings excellent as was Kellys Heroes before it and which it is basically a remake of.

Zulu, The Great Escape, Platoon, AN, Das Boot, Where Eagles Dare, Paths of Glory  all excellent as are many others.

Hurt Locker dung. Thin Red Line far too arty for me.

In fairness, Paul Flynn  was playing club  football for Fingallians well into December which the vast amount of intercounty players were not doing.

I see that Glenbeigh/Glencar are 1/4 to beat Louisburgh and Kenmare are 1/5 to beat Westport with Paddy Power. Just shows you how weak the standard of Connacht club football is. The standard of Intermediate and Junior Football must be really high in Kerry. I wonder how they manage to have such a high standard compared to other counties?

Honestly think alot of counties have to reduce the amount of senior clubs in their counties like Kerry ( I think) have done.  Will never happen I know. Think this "Senior B" that some counties have is a nonsense. Should be branded intermediate which is what it is.

Standard of Kerry club football is excellent and that is why they are winning all around them at junior and intermediate levels.

Cannot see Slaughtneil being beaten in the football. Saw them on telly before Christmas and they looked excellent. Very well balanced which is the key at this level.

Really looking forward to Trainspotting 2 in a way I have never done for any other film. Meeting of Begby and Renton will  be interesting I would think.

Can't honestly see too much wrong with what is in it tbh. Nothing there from what I can see that isn't pretty much the norm for what is expected and hoped for  in most senior club teams. Fact that it is  in writing and comes from a Dublin club seems to have upset people the most.

Like the paragraph of being rostered to help with the academy.

Not a movie but some of the Irish accents in Sons of Anarchy are fuckin brutal.

100% agree. The worst I have ever heard.

Personally, didn't think Brad Pitt's accent was the worst in Devils Own ( a hugely underrated film imo)

Saw a movie there over the Christmas with Mickey Rooney in it playing an Irishman . Dirty Dozen type war movie with Stuart Granger in it. Rooney's accent was awful.

No dog in this fight. Have to say that the way the Mayo team played in 2015 to me anyway didn't look like a team poorly prepared. They imo again, put a Dublin team playing very well to the pin of their collar twice in the AISF and could have won both of the games. Dublin in the 2016 AIFs ( imo again) were not a patch on the team the previous year when only the monsoon conditions prevented us from hammering Kerry (imvho) .

Started watching The Killing and can hardly turn it off. On episode 8 of season 1. Hopefully it doesn't drag on too much. Good show so far.

Sadly, In think you are now going to see the sag which imo blighted the series. 20 episodes I think which could have been halved to ten. Presume you are watching the scandinavian version.
Why do you presume others might think like you?
Sad for you that you could not enjoy the series. It was a well praised series, all episodes,  right through to the last episode.

Just my opinion.

Never really "got"  OFAH or Fr Ted.

None of them a patch on say Yes (P) Minister, Porridge or Phoenix Nights. Imo of course.
