How do you feel the N.I. Assembly works for people outside Belfast?

Same as Everywhere else.
Less effective than Belfast
Alot less effective than Belfast
Not one bit interested in areas outside Belfast

Has been alot of discussion recently about the N.I. Assembly and the job they have been doing in the Areas outside Belfast and its surrounding suburban friends.

This is a little poll to see if the accusations, including little or no investment in both public and private sector and even infrastructure plus the implementation of PPS14 and the now comical processing of its review by people it doesnt effect in any way and about them not caring about Areas outside Belfast and particuarly Areas west off the Bann to see if they have any basis.

If it moves hit it
If it doesnt hit it anyway!!

In fairness they have also done little for nothing for people in Belfast.

The only thing of note they have done is the road building/improvement programmes - all for areas outside Belfast.

Ongoing since before the Assembly resumed.

They can't claim responsibility for the roads. They were planned 10 years ago and work started long before devolution.

What about the aquaduct?

But these roads are usually on routes going to Belfast and the M2 has also been widened in the Belfast area.
Has anyone noticed that the main routes east of the Bann are motorways, that the 26 counties are to be full of motorways while Conor Murphy seems happy to have a non motorway route bypassing Newry on the main Dublin Belfast road.

The new Newry bypass will be dual carriageway, which will be a huge improvement on what we have now. Sadly its still 2 years from completion.
I dont think the assembly works for anyone other than the MLAs. Do we really need that many MLAs and associated staff to run such a small area?

All about bringing investment and improvements to Belfast. The further west you go, the less they care.

Thankfully a group of Irish-American investors see the potential in investing in the West. In fact, they have announced a huge investment in Omagh this week and hope to announce more in the West in the coming months ahead.

None down to Stormont.

As far as roads are concerned, the Dungannon to Ballygawley Rd is benefitting the 'West'. You can't expect motorways and dual carriageways throughout Tyrone and Fermanagh as the population isn't there to justify such development. To be fair, Tyrone has done alright - the road from Ballygawley to Omagh has been seriously improved over the last number of years as well. But how much of this is down to the Assembly is questionable.
