Same old story every year :

The losers of next year's Leinster and Ulster SFC finals will have just six days to recover before they are thrust back into action again in round four of the All-Ireland qualifiers.

It will be the fourth successive year that the beaten Ulster finalists will face a six-day turnaround, despite 60 per cent of delegates voting for a minimum 13-day break at last April's Congress in Mullingar. However, the motion was still defeated because it required a two-thirds majority.

The Leinster and Ulster finals have been pencilled in for July 22, six days before the round four qualifiers which feature beaten provincial finalists against round 3 winners. Dublin are the only county to have won a round 4 qualifier the weekend after losing a provincial final back in 2001, while 12 others have lost, including Derry who were defeated by Kildare this year.

Beaten Connacht finalists Roscommon were also due to play in six days, but got an extra week because the drawn Armagh-Wicklow game delayed a section of the qualifiers.

The Connacht final will be played on July 15 next year, ensuring a 13-day break for their runners-up, while the Munster final is on July 8.

better make sure you don't lose then.
It won't be the next manager but the one after that Meath will become competitive again - MO'D 2016

Bingo

Absolutely no sense to it and the fault lies at the Ulster Councils door - no reason they can't run it off quicker and take a break after final - it will still take 4 weeks to play the first round.

I'm sure the whole calender is set so that finals are played on different weekends but no reason why this shouldn't be taken into account.

Oh not again  ... do they ever learn is right  ??? Last year it was extremely unfair on Derry to have to play 6 days after losing the ulster final..... i certainly wouldnt have been happy if we had lost and it was us playing 6 days later.... surely to god they could find a way to have more tme to ret after a provincial final defeat ?

Surely the 1st QF in Ulster could be played the same weekend as the prel round even if one was a Sat night and move all of the fixtures back a week.

It's not rocket science. Leinster have no problem playing double headers. Some on the Ulster council who probably don't pay for tickets have the mistaken belief that there are thousands of supporters who go to every game in Ulster and therefore there has to be a game very week.

Mont

load of bollocks - most county boards in ulster (bar armagh) have seen sense and thought of the paying public by organising double headers and the uster council could have followed suit

the ulster council have missed a great chance of a double header as well as giving the losing finalists a bit of extra time - its not as if there are big crowds going to the games

above 2 posts are correct. Gone are the days where avid GAA men in Ulster would have went to all games. Most only go to their own county's games. If even.

ah now on the off chance that one of our half-forwards would be injured there would be a whole big gap in our defense and ye wouldnt know what would happen  :o

Yea but ypu probably dont understand because you arent from Donegal.. but its vitally important that all our half-forwards are fit to play back, as well as at least 1 forward. (might as well just go along with this for a change instead of trying to defend myself :D )
