The sad thing is Clonoe and Coalisland have massive numbers and settled teams. Both players are fine footballers but will not be guaranteed starting berths. It completely is out of touch with the ethos of the association to join a bigger club purely to test yourself at a higher level. If a man leaves his club to join a smaller club to simply play football or is forced to join because of work e.g. Dublin or London then you cannot question such a move. If a lad goes to the USA to play at a higher level temporarily I cannot see how he can be faulted if he is unhappy with his own club. In a lot of these situations ultimately players go back to their original club/county like Seanie Johnston though unfortunately the reputational damage is done. Good luck to both lads any way hope they get what they want from their moves, pity we don't have a divisional team system like Kerry so lads playing Junior/intermediate can play in the senior championship then they would be able to test the rest themselves at senior level and still play with their own clubs.

Wouldn't agree with this either, Its a cowardly act and leaving your club in the lurch, walking away from your club that needs you and looked after you since you where a child!! Test yourself by trying to move your club up to a level at which the club your thinking of moving too!
Unless a player moves house to somewhere which is in a different County etc or massive distance then I dont understand why some men would want to leave their club!

Read a tweet last night that Moy have more all star awards (11) than any other Tyrone club and equal Errigal with 4 club members getting all stars. Does this stat show how much the club has underachieved over this past few years? Or as a small club are they punching above their weight. Can't make my mind up. Certainly when they had Mellon, Jordan, the 2 Cavanagh's and maybe even Holmes in the same team for a few years (although Holmes may not have played with Colm).

Its hard to know if they underachieved or not, if you take the 4 best players out of any team then they are going to struggle in games and to be fair they got to a senior semi final a few years ago. Also where these players always giving 100% to the club, only a Moy man can tell you that.
With the named players above at that time you can throw in Rocky O'Neil (Sigerson cup captain), Neil Donaghy (Antrim senior player) and didnt Peter Loughran also play around the time of all these players aswel? McNichcol was a Armagh underage player, they def where doing things right at bringing through quality players

Well Dublin started one on the edge of the square last weekend. Donegal may decide to move Murphy back in there this year. Monaghan use Jack McCarron there, he picked up Aidan O'Shea inside last year - so to answer your question - quite a few.

id say moy v cookstown and pomeroy v clonoe will be on together probably in edendork.

I have to say I find Edendork a terrible venue for a match - too open to the elements and there is little atmosphere created during games due to the vastness of the terrace.

Surely Senior championship games should be played at venues with a bit a shelter for the patrons - I can think of 10 better venues:

Omagh
Carmen
Dungannon
Dumoyle
Killyclogher
Galbally
Augher
Loughmacrory
Coalisland

To that list you could add the following who have covered terracing;

Greencastle

Admittedly a few of them are not located centrally to accommodate games but I would travel the extra distance if it meant I was going to be sheltered...

Pomeroy shouldnt be used for Championship games, changing facility's are not up to scratch, you can barely fit 15 players in them!!
I dont see why they even use Pomeroy when there are better options!
