Fcuk this BBC coverage is absolutely sh1te :-\

Was just thinking that, some difference to Sky's coverage. No insight, no knowledge, no research Alliss mailed it in long ago.

Agree Sky in fairness do it well, at least Beemer is there, even if its only to play.

Aliss is 86, he really shouldn't be doing it anymore.. He was fantastic back in the day though!

Wonderful that this is on BBC.

Far superior quality of coverage.

Any chance to hear the incomparable Peter Alliss commentate is not to be missed.

Has there even been a 'Ken on the Course' yet??

It's the only decent thing about their coverage... really missing Ewen Murray's dulcet times he's an excellent commentator!!

Yeah i had to turn it off, don't think they had heard of half the players. Alliss referred to Jaidee as "the wee man from Thailand", basic research on players isn't much to ask.

If there's one thing I hate in this world above all others, including ISIS, it's Sky Sports' golf coverage.

Utterly sycophantic and corporate to the last.

Paul McGinley must be the most boring coont ever to give an "opinion" on a television screen.

Nobody forces you to watch it? It's not as if bbc (or any or their channel) they have made any effort to broadcast regular pga, european tour , LPGA, ladies European tour events, etc........

Sky's coverage addresses what modern golf, as a sport, is now about.

Strangely enough, a bit with Sid on this. That superannuated old fossil Aliss aside, Beeb coverage isn't actually all that bad. They're taking the feed from the host networks so have no control over what footage they show. With Sky, it's usually only the leaders / marquee players you see; that and half the time cutting to the studio, watching David Livingstone glancing sideways at the camera, Butch boasting about all the players he's worked with, Paul McGinley saying "Yeah" every second word and Tim on the touch screen boring the pants off everyone going interminably through a player's round. No, I don't miss it at all.
