That and we kicked the game away. People often refer to 1996 as being the one that got away, yet my oul fella says that 97 was far worse to stomach.

Magpie seanie will beg to differ... However it is still Kerry 1997 for me.
Are you mad? Any team with Maurice Fitzgerald, Dara Cinnéide and the Pony on it will win whatever they want.

Harder to take because Mayo beat Kerry well in the 1996 semi final?

dublin 1995 - could only beat a one man tyrone team with help of paddy russell.
tyrone would have won replay btw.

Stupid thread really, since you have different era's and the teams never play each other it is impossible to ascertain and anyhow anyone who wins the AI can hardly be said to be the worst of anything.

Shaney started this thread via Olly, a poor attempt at hooking Armagh wans I think.

Oh, rrhf's contribution was admirable  ::)

Surely everybody is aware this is a wind up attempt? 3 teams few around here would have any real knowledge of and one of recent vintage with plenty of posters from that county. Good man Olly, you got a few bites!

Jeez I don't think you can include armagh there, in O2 they stopped Tyrone from winning an all Ireland

Nope, that was Sligo. That's right, Sligo!! In case you didn't catch that, SLIGO!!  ;D

Nearly beat Armagh that year too if I'm not mistaken... Sligo that is.

The important word there is 'NEARLY'  ;)

Kerry 97.

Defo.

Mayo, Meath, Galway, Offaly, Tyrone, Dublin, Kildare were all probably better teams that year.

Galway 1998.

Sure they were only one pass away from 3 All-Ireland's in 4 years. Useless bastards.

Oraisteach

Didn't Jedward win an All-Ireland of sorts?  They're pretty bad.

+1 That Dublin team were perennial losers having lost to Donegal in 92, Derry in 93 and Down in 94. Tyrone were poor enough and only for Peter wouldn't have been anywhere near that final. In an awful game Dublin only won after a dire performance by Paddy Russell who plainly had decided that it was time that Sam went back to the capital. It still hurts!
That was never a square ball!!
