Fianna beat Edendork by 2 in a fairly feisty affair.  Would have been a tough game to referee - only 1 player got the line on a double yellow, ref was very lenient.  Badly needed win for Island. Kilpatrick going off injured had a big impact on edendork, he cought some great ball and made a few powerful runs - ditto O'Hagan for Fianna.  McCurry and O'Hagan stroked over some lovely frees from distance for both sides.  The game had a real championship feel to it.  Edendork 1-3 to no score up in early stages.  Fianna showed plenty of character to claw their way back and hold on for win.

I think the moy are a small club. It's hardly the biggest catchment area in Tyrone. I have never seen them compete at grade 1 in any underage competition (open to correction). I think they produced some Tyrone legends but haven't produced a great 15. They yo-yo'd for a few years in and out of senior without any major impact bar that semi final run.

the size of Slaughtneil

The size of Slaughtneil???  They have everyone fooled.... Rich club with a large catchment area. Credit to them though.  They are an example to every other club.

thanks for the moral advice redzone and il try harder in future to be a better person but i dont need advice from from a numpty like you. with regards the ttm allstars, am i right i sayin peter harte is the only one of the 15 who started a championship game for tyrone this year?  i though people on here were sayin we have all the best club players already on the panel?
I see the entire full back line from the TTM all stars has been called up to the county panel, the weakest line on the senior team.

I would say the full forward line is the weakest on the county team, as it consists of 1 man.  Personally I think McNamee is a very good player, McCarron has been our best defender for the past few years and McCrory always gets knocked but seems to get the task of man marking one of the danger men on the opposition.  He usually keeps them quiet by continually driving forward and making them mark him most of the game.

The 3 men called up are very good manmarkers with plenty of pace and although Burns and McKernan can play half back with ease we are not short in that area.  Defence is not our problem. Its genuine scoring forwards we are lacking.  Skeet hopefully coming back to something near his pre injury potential and Richie Donnelly getting a full year without injury should help.

But what do I know......

New Kerry jersey is tasty... more plain than recent offerings but looks the part.

What's with the pink shorts
;D ;D ;D

They need to bring back the red shorts.... Wont help how they play but will be easier on the eye and lessen the Kildare comparison.

I don't know if this lad has been mentioned on this thread or not but young McKernan from Coalisland would be streets ahead of Aidan McRory on his performance alone last night. Although Lee Brennan weighed in with some fine scores the young 'island defender made life very difficult for him. Hope to see both on the county starting line up next year

McKernan marked him very well in drawn game too

Ger Canning is doing his 33rd all ireland.

One way of looking at the history of the human group is that it has been a continuing struggle against the veneration of 'crap'.

Every year I pray he'll announce this is my last.

Please God he'll say it this year.

Was my imagination or did Canning say at one stage that Mayo were coming forward but met by sea of Yellow Jerseys???  I could have sworn he said it

Ciaran McLaughlin (Omagh) and Michael McKernan (Coalisland). Excellent defenders and very good on the ball. Would help with the lack of depth in the defence. Would also like to see Danny Gorman (Killyclogher) get called up but with injuries his time has probably passed.
Kyle Coney (Ardboe) might be worth a try again if his attitude is right. Ruairi Sludden (Dromore) and Mark Kavanagh (Errigal) also be worth looking at.
However wouldnt mind see alot more from the players called up last year during the league. Rather than just during the McKenna cup and an odd minute here or there.

Brian Toner - Coalisland - has consistantly been brilliant for a few years now but never gets a mention anywhere.  Can do everything and take frees.  Was a county minor and U21 I think.  Maybe he doesnt want to play county senior but is a joy to watch.

Was McShane not in the 26 for the Armagh game because he played for his club the previous week?
Heard that
Heard he asked could he play the starred game, was told it was up to him. Went and played. Trained all week with Tyrone and then wasnt named on the bench and given number 33 on Saturday. He could be put in an awkward position regarding Junior Championship.

Unless my eyes deceived me Skeet was 33 on Saturday

I have been impressed with Armagh in the qualifiers this year.  They semed to have went back to the style of football that brought success in 2000's.  Good ball into dangerous forwards will always give a team a chance to win any game.  Maybe the weakness is the fact that their defence had a tendency to switch off during the league.  A couple of games were lost by late scores that should have been dealt with, hence they didnt get promoted when they probably should have.  They do have quality players in McParland, Clarke, Grimley etc.

However Tyrone should win this game if its approached in the right way.  Speed, strength in the tackle and a bit more cuteness and experience will see them home. A better team overall and a strong bench.

It will be a tight tough affair but people seem to think that Tyrone cant do the physical stuff and will shy away when confronted.  Tyrone can be as physical as the next team, the key is discipline at this stage of the year.  Keep the heads, play at a high tempo and we should win.  Armagh have momentum and did run Donegal close a few years ago, but Tyrone have been playng at a higher level the past couple of years and should have enough in the tank.

Also as a Tyrone man, I personally am happy to see McGeeney do well.  A great player in his day and got a fair bit of stick from southern media in his time at Kildare.  Its good to see how he has conducted himself in chamionship this year.

Saying all that, Tyrone by 3.

Who gives a F**k.  I couldn't care less.  Maybe Dublin read the Koran and Kerry are all Krishna's.  Maybe Longford are all mormons.  Who cares?

Players will toe the line in certain counties just to stay on the panel, whether they are religious or not.  If Brian Cody asked his players to hop on one leg and bark like a dog before a match they would...  Its all about the sense of collective and sense of team that is the main driving force behind this.

Supporters wear lucky jerseys, unwashed usually, have routines and superstitions they go through.  Going to mass in Drumcondra before a big match in Croker is a big one.

Nothing to see here, move on.

Ger Canning is worse. I thought his flippant remark when there was real concern over Fionn Fitzgerald on Sunday was poor. "He'll have a bit of a headache in the morning". That was a nasty bang.

Surely was, could've done some serious damage to himself, great to see him able to lift the cup at the end. Canning is another dose but isn't too bad on shows like Seo Spoirt. Looks like we were spoilt for years with O'Hehir and Ó Muircheartaigh, surely to Christ though rte could come up with a better way to recruit their commentators. Then again I suppose they'd have to be arsed about their GAA output before that could happen.
Nail hit on the head right there Croí...they have the best GAA presenter in the country sitting right under their nose and he is being "wasted" doing (albeit) very good documentaries on TG4. He should have some role in fronting or presenting the RTE GAA flagship coverage.

RTE sport don't give a toss about serious GAA coverage and they never will while Nugent is head of sport, the championship is guaranteed ratings for them, they are content to throw out the same auld shite year in, year out as they don't need to up their game at all.

100% correct

Croke Park will only become neutral when Dublin build a new stadium, as has been rumoured for a while now.  This hurling match could be played in Phoenix Park for all anyone cares.  Tipp will win either way.  I understand that if the rules say it should be a neutral venue, then so be it but surely common sense,  (yeah I know, common sense on the GAA is up there along with magic beans and earth being flat!!) should dictate a double header and  a big crowd in Thurles.  Maybe the Dubin players are happy gong down to Thurles for a double header, why not test yourself against the best in their back yard.  All of Leinster does it for the football most days.

After one Kerry score from Murphy he said Donaghy was involved from the start.  Kerry FB charged up field 70 yards, laid ball of the Donaghy who laid off to Murphy to score. They showed the replay and he still says Donaghy involved from the start.... The standard of commentary is pathetic, patronising, dumbed down and utterly awful.. then it's over to Des in studio tonight to top things off.... Does RTE understand these are our national games, not 6 nations or LOI nonsense... Time to get new blood in.
