GAA Discussion / Re: Ulster Championship 2021

Such devastating news. Hard to care about a game of football today.

Not sure what forces are at work, but thought game should have been postponed.
Hope it's not being played because of TV and financial pressures.
As Bob Dylan sang, Money doesn't talk, it swears.

Can't listen to Radio Ulster on the wireless. Is the commentary being streamed on line and if so does anyone have a link?

Amazing to hear Stephen's name mentioned during the ceremony
at half time for the new stand tonight. Meant a lot.

I was with his family today and its just incredibly difficult to take in. As others have already said,
he leaves behind two young boys and a wife and a family who loved Stephen very, very much.
Its hard for me to say too much at the moment but its heartening to see so many messages
of support from the posters here and how highly many of you thought of him.
At some point, down the line, I'll show this thread to his family to let them see the messages of condolonce and support from Stephens Gaaboard friends.

Ardmhachaabu passed away suddenly yesterday (5/11/2010)

My thoughts are with his wife, children and family.

Sleep well Stephen.

For anyone who's ever suffered the converer belt
that passes as the health service or had a relative suffer the indignity of it,
Harney has had this coming.

For those suffering from righteous indignation, 'tis only a drop of paint.
About time the Irish fought back against this shower. At least the French
have a bit of fight about them. Can only hope this is the start of something
against this rabble.

Armagh / Re: Club Hurling in Armagh

Fantastic result for Keady Lamb Dearg!

When's the last team there was a team from Armagh in the Ulster Senior Hurling Final?

I could be wrong, but I don't think there ever has been?

Great for hurling in the county.

Great Win for Keady. Dug deep and got the result.
Cuchulianns played well in the last 15 minutes but greater experience and nerve
from Keady got them through. Mcshane and Burke were
stand outs for Keady. Good to see a decent crowd at
a county final poorly advertised (as usual) from the county
board. Cuchulianns haven't won a championship in 21 years
but are improving all the time and should be contesting again
next year. Good contest but An Céide abu!

Anyone know what time the Hurling final takes place at today?
You'd think there'd be some information on the county web site.

Think its The Flaming lips -  Race for the prize.

Just Back. From an Armagh perspective, brutal stuff. No ideas in the final third.
Armagh players seemed to run into trouble too easily.
If there was a dead end, they seemed to find it.

Never looked like the management could affect things from the line.
Not sure where we go from here,  feels like backwards at present.
Are we that better than we were under Mcdonnell? Not so sure.
Anyone watching Armagh the year knew that was coming. Beating
Down papered over cracks.

Some talented players there but don't think
we're gonna see the best of them until regime changes. Thankful we don't
have to face Cork, would have set some of the young lads back years.

Poor turnout. Dublin booing? Get over it. Enjoyed the craic in Drumcondra,
as always, with the Dubs. They've no illusions about progress this year, but are
better positioned than we are.

If it's Stevies last game, the man owes Armagh nothing. Emptied the tank
the last few years and our most consistent performer for a decade. Missed
a couple today but still scored 6/7 of our scores. Legend.
