Drumragh is only about 6 miles to Fintona whereas Killyman have to travel well over 30 miles. If they wanted to play this game under lights could they not have used Stewartstown in which case Killyman would only have to travel about 6 miles but Drumragh over 30 miles. Why do Drumragh get the much shorter trip here?

The fact its a double header with Aghaloo/Drumquin probably came into it (although that might be giving the county board too much credit!). No reason why it had to be a double header so could have been played at 6.45 somewhere like Pomeroy/Carrickmore

Regarding Fintona as a venue for the JFC, there's absolutely nothing wrong with our "training" pitch for playing full games on. Since it opened a few years ago it's hosted a load of competitive games both for the club at all age ranges as well as a neutral ground for championship and league knockout games. The two legit complaints that could be made would include the lack of proper terracing for spectators, and that there are no turnstiles for entrance. But the facilities in question were never intended to be used for such purposes. And it's not as if the club itself is demanding to host these games - the county board are the ones responsible for designating host grounds for championship games. In a ten mile radius of our ground the only other possible floodlight venues would either be Healy Park or Garvaghy, the former was likely ruled out for a junior 1st round double header, just because, while I'm not sure if Garvaghy is able to resume hosting such games again (something to do with surface problems on the pitch which has an adjacent covered stand)? Don't hate on us, we've done nothing wrong.

In no way way being critical of Fintona or their facilities - in fact easily amongst best in Tyrone and a place where I love going to see championship matches on their main field. But championship games should not be played on training pitches no matter how good they are. Particularly as you say with no spectator provision. I would say the same about any venue where this was going to be the case.

Have you never seen Dromore's second pitch with the terracing?

I'd say the secretary of CCC being from Drumragh would be a good start

Killeeshil have to travel 30 miles to Newtownstewart for their game against Castlederg (which is only a few miles away). Not a great argument and having to travel 30 miles isn't exactly taxing.

Now we have complaints about driving distances

Those poor men from Killyman having to drive the guts of THIRTY, yes 30 miles for a championship game, how can these guys be expected to perform after such an arduous expedition?

The CCCC should burn in hell for this
