Gizmo the dog :(

Anyone from the Omagh area should know who Gizmo is.

No way? When did you hear this?

Twitter. That journalist that was tweeting about the elections from Omagh, that proved very popular on this board.

Andy Ripley - One of the good ones

Yes - one of the men who turned up in '73, I'm fairly sure.

Declan

He was indeed Hardy - Here's his quote from the day:
Andy Ripley, the England No 8, was moved by the Irish welcome. "Ireland was just brilliant, and Dublin is a place that steals people's hearts, and quite rightly. We got a really big cheer, and then for the next 80 minutes the Irish kicked **** out of us."

Hardy

I was there that day. An unforgettable occasion.

Canalman

Don't doubt for a minute you were there Hardy.

Have my doubts though about the other 200,000 odd who claim to have been there. The "GPO in 1916"/ "Thomond Park 1978" of a certain generation.

Hardy

The standing ovation for England as they ran out has reached about five minutes duration in my memory by this stage. I'd like to see it again. I'm sure it was approaching a minute anyway.
