Why is this been discussed on the board the family should be allowed to grieve without intrusion from people who are making assumptions.

This is a total disgrace! Typical GAA sweeping things under the carpet!
Well said.
Why would Ulster council rescind a suspension do you think ?
Would it be lack of evidence or that they just want to be seen to brush the whole thing under the carpet so to speak ?
So you feel there is a lack of evidence here Orangeman?? Agree Kilcoo have came out of this looking very badly! I'd ban both of them for a year!
It must be a lack of incontrovertible evidence.
Why would the GAA risk losing face and being accused of brushing things under the carpet ? The accused are entitled to a fair hearing and the Ulster council hearings committee have I would imagine closely examined the facts and concluded that in one case, one of the accused had no case to answer ( no concete evidence against him ) and the other Aidan Brannigan did not deserve 24 weeks in the first place.
This is a very public and high profile case and the media are waiting on the outcome and are only too glad to report on it and it is difficult to see the Ulster council hearings body not making the correct decision.
There is a suggestion that this might go further but hopefully not.

Shockingly sad happenings in Augher over the weekend.

Thats the problem with derry; they rule mf for much of the time over the years, but fail to convert this to scores. Look at the mf throughout the last 15 years.... Tohill, mcgilligan, doherty, friel, patsy bradley, diver, muldoon and then pj today. We cant capitalise on this dominance and it doesnt matter who we play.
Ah come on tyrone man, ye not admit that derry were the better team??
Quote from: tyroneman on January 06, 2013, 10:07:39 PMQuote. Derry were the better team today and the attitude they had pleased me a great deal. Tyrone were lucky to snath the win today.
Would have to disagree.
Fairly 50/50 except Tyrone had 3 goal chances and took 1 compared to Derry's one chance, which they missed.
So overall Tyrones better approach play slightly edged out Derry's superior MF but really little in it.
McCurry, (Ronan) O'Neill and Coney will be some forward unit though, if they can all get fit and stay fit......
Can only hope players like Harry Og or Grugan will develop into decent midfielders as we still seem to struggle.....

A good few of those Bryansford boys were on the Paul McGirr winning team about 4/5 years ago who beat Cavan Gaels in the Final.

Can the Derry wans confirm if on the way home they encountered any amusing banners re Tyrones seemingly endless domination of them?

This year will see 12 years since Sam headed West. Should we merge a few of those counties together?
Ah sure we're not as weak as Ulster colleges, no need to merge up just yet.
Out of interest when was the last time a Connacht school won the A Colleges Hurling title?? Jarlaths record of late isn't the best either. Is this because of fewer boarders?
Galway doesn't really have one big hurling school like Flannan's in Clare or Kieran's in Kilkenny. Most of the hurling schools in Galway are smaller vocational schools so Galway tend to be very strong at vocational schools level where they beat Kilkenny in the All-Ireland final last year and did 4 in a row in the 90's and 3 in a row in the early 00's.
Jarlath's are not quite the powerhouse they once were without borders but they are still pretty strong. They really should have beaten Colman's in the Hogan Cup final 2 years ago and they lost in the semis last year to the eventual winners again. Even with the boarders it's not like Jarlath's were winning it every year.

Galway midfielder Michael Coleman being its most famous son...but All-Ireland titles???
Football my son FOOTBALL!
Perhaps I didn't word that right. It was 2 seperate questions, one regarding the hurling and the other about Jarlaths. I know a great Coleman's side beat Jarlaths a couple of years ago in the Hogan final.

This move has been rumoured for over a year. Kavanagh got married to a girl from Galway last year and he was also went to Jarlath's as a teenager. I don't expect he'll be lining out for Galway and we might not have seen the last of him in a Kildare jersey.
A bad week for Kildare football along with the loss of Cian Reynolds to Leitrim.
