The twitterati are ranting about a #youthquake

Not entirely convinced by twitter as it's very much an echo chamber.

Is there any truth in this?

Some reported (young) people being turned away from #PollingStations because they didn't have ID.

That is bollocks.

YOU DO NOT NEED ANYTHING TO VOTE, NO ID OR EVEN POLLING CARD.

Make sure you go and #Vote. #GE2019

I needed photo ID, is this just a Norn Iron thing?
Photo id is an NI thing ok, heard gurns about the Tories planning to introduce it UK wide back in the Autumn. You actually don't need id to vote in GB, mad!

You don't need ID to vote in GB? Surely you at least need a voting card? Jaysus if not, Sinn Fein could have won an overall majority in GB just running candidates and bringing buses around the country :)

What's mad about that table is that we are not even half way through the season and LFC are at least double the points of 16 out of 20 teams. That really is a mental stat.

Without playing well!!

We need to remember Kaepernick level of play before "kneeling", he was benched for Blaine Gabbert, and that was 3/4 years ago.

The read option was no longer there for him, defenses had worked him out, it usually happens in the NFL. He was never going to be a pocket passer, at the end of his starter days the playbook was as simple as you will get. They weren't asking him to throw anything outside the numbers, all basic stuff.

That was 3/4 years ago, people think he will be better now ?? NFL teams will put up with a lot if you can play, if you can't well they won't. Next man up

As I said, I was never a fan, but he's better than some of the donkeys there now. Just not as good as he needs to be to make this sideshow an irrelevance. There's 32 teams in the league and all of them carry at least 2 quarterbacks, some/most have 3. There's no way he's not good enough for that.

That's it exactly. If he white and protesting against climate change, he wouldn't be blackballed.

I'm not sure if you are referring to his colour, or to the cause he is highlighting. If the former, I'd say probably Lamarr Jackson or DeShaun Watson or Patrick Mahomes wouldn't be blackballed either.

Anyone got a solid link for TeaTV apk? My provider is fully back up this past few weeks with Live TV, which is great, but the VOD section is deceased and not coming back according to them.

I've never been a big fan of Kap (ask Puck :) ) from his college days, but he certainly should be in the league on talent alone. As Seanie says, he is better (right now) than a lot of his counterparts who are starting. However a significant number of them (Jones, Darnold e.g) have 'upside' potential, which he doesn't have at this point. He is what he is, and he is what he was when he was blackballed. If he was elite, they (the NFL) would have made it work. Imagine if Drew Brees or Aaron Rogers protested against Trump by kneeling? Would they be blackballed? Not a chance.

So he was courageous and stubborn in what he did, but I think he has to make a choice. If he will not do what this exclusive club wants, then all he can do is stand outside shouting about it. He's good enough to be in the league, but not good enough to be a massive issue everywhere he goes. It's not right that someone should have to sacrifice their principles in something like this, but it's a fact of NFL life.

I love American Football, and the NFL, but the league are a bunch of unprincipled money men.

I think Gary Neville got it spot on when he said sometimes there's an arrogance in England that they think they can do it better than anyone else. Instead of reviewing usage in other countries and competitions and coming up with the best practice, they decided to implement their own bespoke approach.

I assume this is wrong?

SF: 17 Nov. St. Joseph's Miltown Malbay (Clare) v Clonmel Commercials (Tipperary)) in Dungarvan 1:30pm. Surely over in Clare somewhere?

Tipperary is hanging onto the U12, u14, U16 for dear life. Still playing 21 this year as well. There is a sense that this convention might be the death knell and next year will go to odd years. I actually don't see much wrong with 12s 14s and 16s, but equally I don't think moving to odd years will result in a mass exodus either.

GAA Discussion / Re: Kerry Championship
November 11, 2019, 07:18:31 PM
From my experience, 1 & 3 are almost equal footing and ahead of 2. Unless you are a 'big' club, then 1 is obviously clear ahead. I know in Dromid, if you offered them a choice, it would be fairly 50-50 whether they'd like a South Kerry Championship, or to play with South Kerry and win a championship. And South Kerry has a very definite identity, as it's all more or less based around Cahirciveen. They all go to school there, shop there, nightclub there etc. the Geographic circumstances of the Iveragh penninsula contributes definitely. I'm not sure a Feale Rangers or Saint Brendans or even East Kerry would have that same sense of identity.

The Mary's chose not to play senior county championship I think, is that correct?

I see the point that some lads make about the inherent advantages a Kerry champion in the lower grades have, but I think those lads are assuming way too much about the importance of the County League. Clubs in Kerry are rated on their championship performance, and it's completely separate from the Championships.

On the extremely tight calls, what is the published margin of error? I'm a bit suspicious when you are literally talking about 3 or 4 centimetres. I hold the same suspicion for hawkeye in the GAA. I just watched Brian Hogan's catch over the crossbar in the All Ireland final again, and it is no way over the crossbar. I suspect the margin of error is at least a couple of centimetres, and if you are in that +/- you have to give the benefit of the doubt to the attacker.
