I have been inputting the teams myself for a few launch/test games to get the app off the ground and raise awareness but eventually the clubs/counties/colleges will be inputting the teams themselves as it wouldn't be practically possible for me to do it.

Yea the Player of the Match vote is something I thought could be given to supporters more as pressure always on journalists etc to select their own and not easy for them. Gives the supporters at the game a greater voice.

Ah that A.N. Other buck had to be introduced due to missing jerseys as app would require someone in each number slot. He doesn't see much game time though the poor lad ;-)

Ok, was wondering how the inputting was going to work. You seem to have a good scattering of players on it already, fair play. Will mention to our club to get their profile up and players too. The club profiles would be handy for challenge matches etc for contacting clubs and that.

Yes Karl having the clubs profiles was something we felt would be good for keeping all the GAA clubs information together on one place for easy access. Each club will have the running of their own account so will be their chance to give as much player info to their supporters as they can.

Good scattering of players from around the country and America too. Good for players to have heir GAA info out there for supporters especially the club player who doesn't get as much recognition as they deserve.

Brilliant initiative. Well done.

Thanks Hardy! Is your club profile up yet? Be keen to get all GAA clubs with their profile up so the app can provide team lists for your supporters..

GAA Discussion / www.nametheplayers.com - NEW GAA App

Well lads

I've a new GAA app out called Name The Players which will be useful for all GAA supporters throughout Ireland and further afield.

Predominately, the app will provide team lists of all GAA games up and down the country. All GAA games will be covered - Mens and Ladies Football, Hurling and Camogie at all age levels. Not only will this give supporters the names of all the players in front of them, it will also give all our GAA players an identity and bigger profile - something that they ought to have. Players will be able to create a player profile on the app to include GAA information about themselves as well as optional links to social media accounts. During the match, at half time or in your spare time, spectators can scroll through individual player profiles obtaining information on players such as name in Gaelige, nickname, age, club, county, GAA honours etc.

There are 4 main concepts which the Name The Players app incorporates:

1) Match Team Lists

2) Player of the Match Voting

3) Player Profiles

4) Club Profiles

The app is now available by typing Name The Players GAA into App/Play store and also can be accessed through our website www.nametheplayers.com .

Also here are 3 'How to use' videos with Mícheál Ó Muircheartaigh explaining all about the app.

1) http://youtu.be/jnaO7I5yJ-g

2) http://youtu.be/r_I_mb0ymIo

3) http://youtu.be/-nii--0kiaQ

Here is our first blog http://nametheplayers.com/introduction.php which explains exactly what the app is about.

If you have a minute take a look.

Thanks
