Any one know the full details of what happens when the barriers are lifted next month from the M50, especially for drivers from the north.  There was an article in last weeks Irish News and i felt it didn't explain the situation clearly.

For example, what about the occasional user who may only use the M50 maybe once (or twice a year) to go to the likes of Tullamore or Port Laoise  ;)  or those bringing their caravan for their fortnight in Kerry.  There are no benefits for them to register for an electronic tag.

I had read in the past that northern drivers would be exempt from paying the toll, is this true?

A mate of mine is gettiing married in summer 2009 , with the reception being held somewhere in Monaghan.

Anyhow, they are currently on the look out for groups to play at the wedding and are after suggestions.  Someone who will also do a bit of up beat Irish music, something on the lines of Blackthorn.

Would appreciate any suggestions...

General discussion / Debit Card Refunds - PTI Europe
April 03, 2008, 09:53:27 AM
Any one notice any debits and refunds on their bank statements in the last two weeks from  something called PTI Europe.  I just noticed this on mine.  An amount was debited from my account about 2 weeks ago and has been refunded back in this week.  Never heard of them before.

Anyhow, just done an internet search there and this is appearing to have happened to a lot of Amazon customers who have made purchases.  I haven't but then I remembered I made a purchase on Napster for that amount.  So now I have been refunded for what I paid for.  :)

Worth keeping an eye on this.

three Deegans' on the Down AI winning panel of 94.  Connor played thru the whole campaign at midfield, Gerard was used in the early stages, don't think Gregory got a game tho.

General discussion / Re: Poots the Gael

Seamus McKee interviewed him on Good Morning Ulster this morning as well.  Poots was trying to be a smart arse more than anything.  He was questioned about attending Croke Park in the future and said he 'll be there pretty soon but it is to watch Rugby.  It was good to see him in Newry last night, and the statement he made then was very welcome (but then that was probably to do with the surroundings he was in).  His interview this morning sounded like it came from his own home.

General discussion / Re: Sky Digital
November 20, 2007, 12:33:49 PM
I have had sky for the past three years and is connected to the phone line (although after the initial 12 mths it doesn't need to be).

I went to order a movie through box office last week but a message came up saying insufficient funds left, to do so.  Any ideas??

Also, what is the best/easiest way of diverting the sky signal throughout the house without the use of another box?

Ross Carr stated 2 - 3 weeks ago that Down will also be fielding a team no matter what, if the strike takes place.  He would have no idea who the starting 15 will be but is confident of getting 15 players in Down to pull on the jersey

Down / Re: Down Club Hurling & Football

while i agree to the parish/family ties etc, where the club is located/situated isn't my "place", therefore i Have no real affinity for the place except that it's the only club I can be a member off.  I did have a club, that represented where I lived but due to circumstances had to fold/merge in with the other side of the Parish.  The two sides are as bad as black and white.  I live in hope that someday football will return.

On another note, what about this instance.  I live on the boundary of two parishes, in that if I moved 100 yards up the road I would be living in another Parish.  Although still in Down, the bulk of that Parish and the GAA club that represents it is in another county.  Does that mean at present anyone living in the Down part of the parish can only play for a club in another county?

regarding people and their clubs.  What is the general consensus that players/members should be able to choose what ever club they want to be part of no matter where they live?  Does the Parish rule still exist (especially in rural areas)?

The club in the Parish I live is an amalgamation of two clubs that used to be in the parish.  However "one" side of the club is far more dominant than the "other" side.  With very few clubs near by, I have no option but to go with that club, although if I had the choice I would choose another.

Croí na hÉireann

Where are you staying??
you can get a bus from Glasgow cross area (end of High Street/Argyle Street) that brings you along the London Road and probably Gallowgate.  I'm not sure of bus numbers but i know some of them are marked Carntyne.

Another way is the get the underground from Glasgow Central (Lower Station) to Dalmarnock.  Only takes 5 mins and is then less than a 10 min walk to the ground.

The team normally arrives at about 12.00/12.30.
