This one could be the sleeper game of the weekend if Tipperary can get a good start.

Agreed about that subs bench not to mention the injured players. More Allstars amongst them than some counties have ever got  combined .

Even Kerry will find it hard  to "doom and gloom / "woe is us" " their way out of  this given the panel they have.

Tbh, can see them winning the AI in a stroll. However, I get the impression they want another crack at Dublin big time.

Thats some panel of players
tough on Tipp to have to play them 1st day out . it must definetly hold back their development , they could be the second best team in the country and still get a stuffing sunday

This is Tipps second day out. You have to play them eventually, and sometimes it's better to get teams like this good and early. If Tipp are to get to where they want to be, they need to start beating teams like Kerry. You have to start someday, so why not now? And if it doesn't work out, at least if you've had a right cut at them, you can face the qualifiers with confidence.

If you were any use you'd be playing.

Tipperary will beat a higher ranked team this summer.  Maybe not Kerry, or maybe Kerry. But be very aware that these boys are moving upward and quickly.  Similar to Limerick a decade ago, they will be very close to a Munster title in the near future.

Be sure that Kerry and Cork are well aware of the rising challenge. Kerry might be too much this weekend, but Tipp are going in one direction...up.  Quarter final appearance might happen this year.

Are Tipp being a little over hyped on the back of their underage success?? Remember that they failed to get out of D3 this year with Fermanagh ahead of them. They're probably a team for the future but they've shown nothing really to say it'll be this year.

Yes, I think so. I think they are a team for the future, but they have to start closing the gap, starting Sunday. They should have beaten Cork last year, and got good scalps against the likes if Laois up in Portlaoise. But it's still a work in progress. What you don't want to see on Sunday is a regression.

That means they have to go out with the intention and belief they can win this game. If they go out to just keep it close, it will be too easy for Kerry and they'll be no closer to actually beating them, and I am convinced that day is coming.

What's the feeling in Kerry towards O'Neill? Has some record in fairness.

In last year's championship Cork only beat them in injury time in a game which everyone said Cork were very fortunate to win.
Then in the qualifiers they beat Longford by 19 points (not quiet Dublin '15 level but still a fair hammering)
They beat Laois scoring 3-17 despite conceding 4 goals.
Eventually went out of the championship to Galway - who then conceded 4 goals to again.

Oh yeah already in the championship they beat Waterford 1-24 to 0-5 so they are clearly in decent form - 1-21 of that total came from play and they had 10 different scorers.

A key aspect of their league campaign was they lost to Fermanagh and Armagh, who got promoted, as a result of conceding goals to them. There was also the fact that the Tipp U21s got to the U21 final which I'm sure didn't help their league campaign.

If they end up in the qualifiers I could easily see them taking a couple of scalps. A huge advantage is that they have a team that is composed of a serious number of players who have the ability to take scores at intercounty level - they're not relying on just one star player. If they could tighten up at the back (especially as regards conceding goals) a bit they could make serious progress.
