I don't share your optimism re Charles Hardy. I haven't seen anything to convince me he can cut it at this level. I take back what i said about Ward being immobile however, but when he is off his game, as he was Saturday, he can be extremely ponderous in possession. We need to get the ball away from the midfield area quickly and incisively. Wardy needs space around him to deliver the ball in as he takes such a big wind-up before kicking you could nearly run down from the stand and block him. Maybe even give Donegan a shot? I was impressed by him in the Dublin game where he used possession well, then he was played out of position against Down at wing forward. We have to do SOMETHING

You're spot on there about Ward. He's much too easily and too often blocked down. I hate to see players getting blocked – it's stupid to allow it to happen to you, in my opinion.

Yes, we have to do something. If it's not Charles, then I don't know who. Maybe Donegan, as you say.
