A very different and more focused Kerry for this round 1 group game compared to last year. Lesson learnt whereby they could easily have missed out on top spot with that defeat.

Half time Kerry 0-15 Monaghan 0-2.
Full time Kerry 0-24 Monaghan: 1-11

Quote from: J70 on May 17, 2024, 02:41:18 PMCity's PL form since the turn of the year:

P18 W15 D3 L0

Regular as clockwork.

Draws with Liverpool and Arsenal. Not sure on the other.

1-1 with Chelsea at home.

Arsenal will likely look back on that draw against City now, a match they played defensive in and never really pushed for the win.
Dont agree with that any team will take a point at City before game starts bad losses to Fulham and Villa are what has put them in this position. May not be over though, the Aguerooo moment City needed to win against a rank bad QPR team and tried their best to make a meal of it.  West Ham probably owe it to Moyes to put in a performance last day and they do have some quality at top end of pitch.

Maybe so but how the table would had looked going into the final day had Arsenal beaten instead of drawn with City.

Arsenal 88
City 87

It's 2015 since West Ham avoided defeat away to City and have to go back to 2012 since a Moyes managed team got a result in that venue which was 1-1 with Everton. I doubt those records will change this Sunday.

Games with stakes is what the people want.

Ulster final and and All Ireland semi final was games with stakes and attendances wasn't great and at 25 euro a ticket for the All Ireland final I don't expect overly big crowd either.

Players themselves wants more games and It's a development grade so for me the more games the better.

Quote from: Captain Obvious on May 16, 2024, 09:42:28 PMJust Padraig McGrogan that featured in the match against Galway in the league game not named on that Derry 26 and he's replaced by McKinless. A depleted side and potential injury crisis?

Loughlin and Murphy seem to be injured as well. 3 U20s named,  our bench isn't just as strong as it seemed during the league.

I hope McEvoy is fit but Harte likes to name bullshit teams so we'll find out on Saturday evening!

Danny McDermott, Ruairi Forbes and who else? were they on the senior panel already this year or added to the panel since the U20 Ulster final defeat.

Paul Conroy and Chrissy McKaigue from the 2007 Minor All Ireland final, serious commitment and years of service they have given to their counties.

Quote from: bennydorano on May 15, 2024, 09:46:06 AMKerry are the one team this year who I've felt have been playing their cards very close to their chest, that or they've just been pretty poor. Seeing that's it's Kerry we'll have to give them the benefit of the  doubt I suppose. I remember thinking Derry had moved ahead of them in the pecking order but the league really is just the league. I'd be tempted to back them for the AI at this stage- not that it would be a huge shock if they won.

Be interesting to see how Kerry will start off this group stage.  Last year they were well beaten in round 1 by Mayo and only for Mayo slipping up against Cork in round 3 it could easily have been All Ireland Quarter final exit for Kerry instead of losing in added time in the AI final.
