If somebody was to tell me this time last year that Mayo would still be playing football in September 2015 I would be absolutely over the moon.
There's no doubt about it that we need to stick with Holmes and Connelly. This is the most talented set of Mayo footballers I've seen in my lifetime anyway. Some of them aren't getting any younger but we have found some real gems in Durcan and Diarmuid O'Connor. Add to that the likes of Stephen Coen, Michael Hall, Evan Regan and David Drake. People have mentioned Conor Loftus too. These lads need to be given as much game time as possible in the league next year, especially Regan. I know it's been talked to death but what else can we do but look ahead to 2016.
I have no doubt that these lads have already forgotten about last Saturday and are already mad to get back playing football again.

Will the Donegal Gaeltacht McDonalds get their very own Bun Beag?

All about the way you say/write it. SO'S didn't pull Cooper down he grabbed him around the neck like a turkey and flung him to the ground. It's a yellow maybe even red card - the black card was brought in for more cynical play where as here O'Shea lost the plot momentarily due to Cooper up to his usual niggly ways.

Mighty stuff! How do you win 4 in a row intermediate championships and not get promoted to senior?

Great to have club song like that for celebrations.

Ah, here now lads.

This is utter balls.

No sign of big Magic on those lists anywhere. Yet more discrimination against the weaker hurling counties!

Fran has taken to the ash after the pool cue incident?

Is Commons out of favour these days or just ageing a bit? Mulgrew also not getting a look in it seems? Celtic really have it all to do, I don't think they've a mature enough side to be able to simply sit back and try and defend their aggregate lead. That said they are a better team IMO, enjoyed 60% possession so scoring in Sweden should be achievable.
Scoring in Sweden will be the season highlight.

No axe to grind with Tyrone I've even broad range relations up there but they sure are an easy team to dislike.

Fair play Fermanagh. Imagine what quigley would be like if he lost that arse!
Serious tyre about middle as well. Great to see that playing the Dublin nutritionists and dieticians. ;D

That referee has been around for a few years now, had to be escorted off the pitch in Kiltoom by Shane Curran following a Connaught club championship game 3 or 4 years ago . We felt we had as much cause for complaint as Derry but the weather conditions caused trouble for both sets of players and referee . A previous poster was harsh on us saying we were limited , perhaps he should do a little bit of research on us . 7 teams play 15 a side , 7 play 13 a side totals 196 players starting minor .Take out 15 and 16 year old's playing for around 10 of those teams we have a pool of around 100 to pick from . We lost 2 of the starting team that beat Meath in the Leinster semi to injury as well of not having 1 of last years starters  all year because of injury as well yet we were 4 minutes away from causing a huge shock . Both sets of players should be congratulated for leaving everything on the pitch . In the end the best team won . The way both teams supporters and families mixed on the pitch following the final whistle was testament to the efforts of both sets of players . We have the smallest pick in Leinster but have constantly over achieved in both minor and U-21 by not feeling sorry for ourselves and playing with pride in the jersey

Good post.

Toughest draw Armagh could have got too, apart from an away trip to Galway.Meath and Wexford would have been my preferences.Galway must start as favourites

Bookies don't agree, Armagh 4/6 with Galway 6/4 in most places.

I feel Galway have progressed this year although they could go out in the 2nd round of the qualifies whilst we were in a quarter final last year which was certainly down to the lucky draw we got.

In theory Galway could have to beat Armagh, Tyrone/Derry & Monaghan to make the quarter finals and the same goes for Armagh.

I imagine their won't be many changes from the last day although Patrick Sweeney will be very lucky to get the start ahead of O'Griofa. The other big issue is where to play Conroy, his form is a worry. I prefer Flynn in midfield, his running adds a different dimension when we attack.

Conroy's current form is certainly a worry, I saw him playing for St James's against Killererin last week and he didn't even look like a distant relation of a county footballer, never mind the captain, I think he made one good, clean catch in the second half and that was it, he was taking mad shots from way out as well, he had really bad day at the office. Johnny Duane was given the run around by Padraic Joyce also, worrying times in Galway when it's Padraic Joyce and Cormac Bane that are racking up the scores and getting all the plaudits.
What age would Bane be now?
