Why is the football on before the hurling? Normally it's the other way around.

Would the location of the teams involved have anything to do with it? Nemo probably the longest distance to travel.

A Dublin club in mind?

Rossfan

Ya can't expect Jackeens to get to Croker at 2 pm with the distance they have to travel.
Must be €3 bus or dart fare away......
Davy's given us a dream to cling to
We're going to bring home the SAM

Ireland are also playing England in the rugby at the same time as the football game now, that could have been a factor also.

Do they not rotate it?

Club hurling final has usually been a poor enough game over recent years but it should be tight enough this year.

They used to rotate it then stopped and had the football on last. personally I much prefer the hurling last (providing its a tight match) and as you have said, it should be a lot closer this year..
None of us are getting out of here alive, so please stop treating yourself like an after thought. Ea

It'll be the first time since 2007, when Ballyhale Shamrocks beat Loughrea, that the hurling final will be played second.
Is the ref going to finally blow his whistle?... No, he's going to blow his nose

And from memory it'd be at least a decade before that when the hurling was on second. Certainly from 98 onwards it's usually been hurling then football.

magpie seanie

Must be that they're expecting the bigger crowd numbers for the hurling.

Milltown Row2

The Dubs always head in late so having the hurling on second they should manage the second half of the hurling final  :P

Martin Farragher's red card from the semi final rightly rescinded this evening, free to play for Corofin in the final.

Good stuff, common sense in the end! both finals should be decent this year, very hard to call...  Corofin and Cuala favs I'd imagine but be close enough! Thats my £20 double for the day!
