My divorce was very traumatic and I'm afraid your post has made it worse. It has nothing to do with football opinion and I'm shocked beyond imagination. This forum holds nothing for me now. I wish everyone well. Goodbye.

The reality is that no manager has been "good enough" for the last 10 years. We have to get players to want to play for the County and restore pride.  Division 3 might give us that chance but it will probably take a high-profile, and outside of the county, manager to kick start the pride.  Honestly don't see any other way forward at present.

Michael Bateson. Poor lad plagued with injuries every season. Was a shoe in without them

See you haven't told us what modern day football is screenexile. Must have been something you heard in the pub and thought you would fit it in.
Well done Mackers. Just ignore us on here. We would find fault with a big lottery win.

What's the opinion on Macker as Derry manager - good appointment?

I think so. Probably a breath of fresh air he obviously knows how to coach and set up a team for modern day football (surprisingly something we've not been able to do) which is a great first step.

You need to tell us how to set up a team for modern day football. Is it the way Dublin set up last Sunday or the way Tyrone set up to get to a semi final or the way Mayo set up to go to extra time and replays or the way Kerry have set up for years and years? Im confused so thank god you can explain.

As I was not able to attend  many of  Derry's club championship games I would be interested to hear from those who saw  a lot of  games, in all three grades,  to state  the names of  the stand out players so far in each section.

Most of the Derry panel stood out
Outside that Bradley and Convery glen
Lavey full forward maybe
Sean Leo, Colm, Liam, Holly, two Mullans and Mooney
Paul Bradley and cormac
Nothing from Dungiven or Bellaghy or Loup or Swatragh or Magherafelt or Banagher or Ballinderry

Probably the weekend of the 9th-10th after the county board announces the new manager. If that announcement is delayed then it's mackers, if not then it's crozier and tohill. Well done to the wattys last night. Some class football from them in the second half. If the row is on video big Emmett should get off.

Joe Brolly must be involved in some capacity with those Derry minors.

Lol. He wouldn't know more than five names unless he was reading them off a page.

Stop worrying about Tyrone not able to match Dublin. Don't be using that to call for change. No team in Ireland will get near Dublin.

1 Dublin
2 No other county
3 No other county
4 Tyrone, Mayo, Kerry
5 No other county
6 Monaghan, Donegal, Galway
7 Tipperary, Down, Armagh, Clare, Meath, Kildare
8 The rest

Benny Heron excellent. His first half performance was anyway. Championship is over. Robbies are as far ahead of the clubs still left as Dublin are. Optimist is right. The manager has been picked.

Two prospective Derry managers have just walked into Owenbeg here. They were let in through the back door so they didn't even pay in. The caretaker must know something. Lots of shaking hands going on and an Irish News journalist there too. When will they tell us?
