29,449 attended the last Mayo v Galway Connacht championship match that had supporters. Now 21 hours before this encounter tickets are still on sale on for a 18,000 capped capacity.

Galway not going to travel to see their team hammered.  Mayo  fans waiting for the semi final. Galway haven't knockout senior championship game in Croke Park since 2001.

Well done to Offaly. Especially when they were so much the better team throughout yet couldn't kill off the 'big team', but they never waivered. Maybe the earlier games BnM mentioned stood to them in that regard.

Ironic that the person who is responsible for a lot of this improvement in S&C in Offaly is a Dub.
Recently returned to Dublin as a GPO however

Who is that?
Exactly, and was he really in charge of the Offaly U20 S&C? And any other teams?

And what Dublin club is he going to?

I'd be very surprised if he was going in as a standard GPO/GDO (ie half your time is spent taking PE classes for primary school boys and girls and the other half dealing with the young kids at the club).

2 or 3 of the big Dublin clubs hire an additional GPO, pay them more than the normal GPO. All funds come from the club membership or sponsors. Badging these guys as GPOs gets then around the ban on paid coaches. They are few and far between, Kilmacud have a well known one like this (who's name escapes me!).

Padraic McDonald is one of Crokes GPO.

Well done to Offaly.  Way better team. Dublin probably should lost to Meath as they had lots wides. Offaly 13 and 14 were class.

Anybody see James O'Donoghue walked away from the Kerry panel at the weekend?

His shoulder was never right after 2015. Read somewhere it kept popping out. Was class in 2014.

Game going ahead according to Sky Sports.  Surprising

Game should be off as mark of respect. Are sky calling the shots here?

The Cork number 10 is a serious player. I think he's still u20 next year too

That would be right.  Think he minor captain for Cork in 2019.

Parkinson had plenty to say on it. Doesn't seem to have much love for Cluxton.

It was no bother to Scruff taking the dollar to play for  Parnells, Scruff has a chip with everyone. Cluxton didn't like that all the mercs were joining the senior team, he probably did not like scruff and all the other blow ins.

Oh the irony of Cluxton not liking the mercs in his club.

No bother with it when playing for Dublin.

;D ;D When did Kildare people get so bitter?

Trying to remember who played in goals for Dublin between John O'Leary and Cluxton. I'm sure there must have been one or two.

David Byrne played in goal in 98-01. He managed Ratoath in Meath for a couple years.

Davy Byrne had a short spell as keeper under Tommy Carr. He had been the sub keeper behind John O'Leary.

Cluxton actually made his debut as Davy was injured. Tommy left out Cluxton for the Leinster Final to bring back Davy Byrne and he dropped a high ball for Meath to score a goal that was the difference between the teams (Dubs threw that game away) Following season Cluxton was No.1 and has been ever since

Think Byrne was in goals when Westmeath beat Dublin in 2004. Or maybe it was someone else. Cluxton was suspended.

Brian Murphy was in goal for Dublin v Westmeath.  He played minor for Kerry in 94. Transferred to Naomh Barrog in the  early noughties .

What height that lad middle of the field for Clare, seemed to have a few inches over O'Shea.

Darren O'Neill 6ft 6

He looked to injured for the majority of the match, limping around a lot with a bandage on his knee

He got a knee in the back and elbow in head from AOS in first 5 minutes. O'Shea dominated him around the middle after that.  He only came into game when went to full forward.  Did he bundle ball over for goal not given? I know Clare got  goal a minute later.

Paddy Andrews, 7 All Irelands, not a bad haul. Always thought he was underrated. Hard to believe he started off as a corner back

Great servant to Dublin football.  Played vital role in Mayo/Kerry games in 2015. Kicked 2 big points in 2016 final drawn final.  Injuries hampered his contribution in recent years.

Vaughan was marking Kilkenny.  Higgins was on Paddy.  Cafferkey was switched over after Paddy kicked 2 points.
