While it is easy to gloat at Utd's demise I fail to see what a new manager will do.

LVG & Maureen couldnt fix it and eventually got the road (Jose probably because the players downed tools).

While Woodward and the Glazers have to shoulder some of the blame they have spent plenty of money and still nothing changes.

If there were new owners and they had spent the same amount of money on the similar players what would the difference be?

LVG was an absolute clown. He was found out back in 1998 at Barcelona yet continued to get these big jobs.

Mourinho's bubble burst while at Real. Football passed him by while there, and he's been found out since. An absolute egotist, all that matters is him.

Ole will be there until the summer, then I actually think United will go for Gareth Southgate. You heard it here first!

What's the craic about the Utd supporters chanting about wanting Ed Woodward to die.

Poor form if true.

It's about Glazer(s) actually and hilarious the reaction of that commentator on 5 Live last night - he mustn't have been listening for the last 15 years! Just goes to show the state the BBC is in. Turned over to TalkSport after that and the commentators were saying how great the United supporters were! Obviously they didn't get the briefing the BBC guys got.

LVG and Jose both oversaw significant investment. They both bought players and then refused to play them or fell out with them. LVG with Di Maria and Depay, Jose with Mikitaryn, Pogba, Fred and Sanchez to name a few. They got the road quite rightly. OGS has overseen a fire sale, but has also only had six months with a few signings. Wan Bissaka and Maguire.
Change is needed behind the scenes. That's the reality.

Anyone blaming Ole and wanting him sacked is completely deluded. All it would achieve is that another club legend would be added to the list of people mistreated by the club. The underlying problem is there since 2004 when those scumbags McAnus and Magnier sold out to the Glazers. Alex Ferguson, the greatest manager in the history of the game, produced miracles from there to the end of his career to keep winning. Possibly his greatest achievement, winning the league by a distance in his final season with a poor squad, sowed the seeds for what has come.

The Glazers knew then that they could continue to win trophies, make huge profits and siphon millions out of the clubs for themselves without investing much in players. The now know that winning trophies doesn't matter to their business plans. They are still sensitive to social media outbursts which it why I fear for Ole today. They'll make a few splash signings here and there to assuage the anger. Make no mistake though about the damage Mourinho did in terms of their reluctance to spend. His big signings have been disastrous and resulted in United being unable to recoup fees and left with massive wage bills on the books (Alexis Sanchez still getting paid by the club.....Pogba, Bailly....all zero contribution this season).

So the squad is painfully thin and short of experience. It was a massive concern in August. It came to fruition. Yet the owners are still not buying players. Yet people get after a guy who has and is still giving everything for the club. It sickens me to be honest. Direct your anger where it's deserved and where the actual problems are. Changing manager will not change a thing.

Did United not have their greatest ever modern team circa 07-10?

Misinformation by the BBC, Manchester United fan clubs should be asking for an apology if not the club themselves.

Utd (Glazers/Woodward) have spent over £400m in the last 5 years yet to hear some Utd supporters you would think they spent less than Newcastle.

IMHO the first thing that needs sorted is the attitude of some of the players.

Of course it happened. It has been happening for many years. There's no place in the club for these people. They shouldn't have been able to get in the door.

Did Ferguson not get into a row with McManus & Magnier that ended them with them selling their shares to the Glazers?
Why has Fergie never called for the Glazers to sell United? This would send out a hugely powerful message

What has he done to prove he deserves to stay in the job?

Not only is he an absolute clown in interviews coming out with ridiculous quotes, his inability to adapt when going behind is a clue to his lack on managerial abilities. He got a bounce from the players after Jose went and that secured him a job (given far too early). His win rate is hilarious it is so bad. Anyone who doesn't think he is part of the problem needs their head looked at.

He may be giving everything, doesn't mean its good enough.

What manager could come in, right at this moment, and make that team better? Ole may be a part of the issue, but he is by far and away not the only issue here.

The only questions that can be asked of him is if he is the right man to give time too develop his own team and style, that is the only thing hanging over his head, everything else is problems that have blighted the club for years.

Remember the heady days of last summer when 3 or 4 signings would translate to 80+ points. Easy they said!!  ;D ;D
It was 90+ actually!!

In fairness Burnley put out a strong team against them so that's a sign of progress...

What is Michael Carrick role in backroom team?

Milltown Row2

What makes it worse, in a season that the league has only produced one team that actually can play football, is that Utd can't even take advantage to get up the table. The teams that should have been challenging, like City and Chelsea Arsenal and Spurs have fallen away and have made it a procession for a brilliant Liverpool team, has there been a bigger gap between first and second?
