Armagh beat Tyrone 5-9 to 1-9 in 1987, in Irvinestown.
Tyrone beat Armagh in 1988 at same venue.
In 1989, Armagh were 8 ahead, before Tyrone came back to win by a point. That was the day Mark Grimley caught everything, and also caught John Lynch's face with a haymaker in the tunnel.
Armagh won by a point in Armagh, 1990.
1993, Draw at Athletic Grounds. Armagh won replay in Omagh thanks to Houli's late goal.
Tyrone won by 2 goals in 1994 in Omagh.
Tyrone won again by 2 in 97, Matt NcGleenan getting a dubious late goal.

That's all I can remember from those years. Armagh haven't played Tyrone alot in the Athletic Grounds in recent years. That's probably why Tyrone haven't been them there in a while.

94 game, i think McQuillan and John Grimley were both sent off.  Was also the game Plunkett Donaghey scored a late goal after taking about 8 or 9 steps.  We were awful though that day and deserved to be well beaten.

97, McGleenon pushed (think it was Dominic Clarke) in the back when he jumped for the ball totally taking him out of the game then fisted to the net.  We had enough chances to win two games that day.  I remember a Tyrone defender kicking Houley in the face or chest when he went to get up of the ground.  Pascall McConnell nearly got knocked out i the warm up, took an awful whack to the face with the ball.  Think that was the game that was the start of a big improvement in Armagh football fter getting stuffed in 94 (Tyrone), 95 (Derry), 96 (Derry).  Younger players like McGrane, McConville were starting to really make an impact on the team.

Well they are division 1 next year and we could well be division 2 if things dont go our way on sunday.  We were in division 1 last year and they were 2 last year and we seen what happened.  We could beat them but Tyrone will start favourites and rightly so.

cant see Padden starting

I would fancy Tyrone to beat us as well to be honest, just think thats about as good as we can put out with the absence of ronan Clarke and Toner.  I think we will be better than we were last year against Tyrone.  Cant say i can agree with you about Jamie Clarke, Man of match against Down and Wicklow, was not in a Cross shirt for either game.  he had a poor day against Tyrone but it was nothing to do with lack of desire in playing for Armagh and more to do with the shite ball being played into him all day.

My team for what its worth would be something like:

1.  Hearty
2.  Mallon
3.  Donaghey
4.  Morgan
5.  Kernan
6.  McKeever
7.  McKenna
8.  Vernon
9.  Hanratty
10. Forker
11.  Mackin
12.  A. Duffy
13.  Rafferty
14.  McDonnell
15.  Clarke.

Those pushing for places, Finnian Mo  Paul Duffy in defence, James Lavery and hopefully David McKenna for midfield. Tony Kernan, hopefully Stephen Kernan and Cunningham,Brian Mallon, McVerry, McParland, Grugan and O'Rourke.

For the first time in a long time we have genuine competition for the forward positions with probably 10 or 11 very capable forwards in the panel.  Since around 08 we have had about 3 or 4 good forwards who were more or less certain starters and even played half backs in forward positions to make up the numbers.  Feeling optimistic for the summer, dont think we will win anything but i think we will see good progress

How is Anto Duffy still on the pitch?

im glad he was left on.  thought anto, forker, the bigger of the two raffertys (Caolan?) and McVerry all had very good second halfs.  A bit more composure by McVerry could have won us the game.  Duffy and Rafferty showed great pace when running with the ball.  Very pleased with the performance.  Though Vernon was very good (apart from when trying to pass, loses a serious amount of attacking opportunities with wayward hand passing)

The question is who would middle Ireland prefer, a Provo or a queer?  That is the reality.

You have a way with words  ;D

Who can say for definate that they will not achieve a United Ireland?  Highly unlikely to be by 2016 or 2026 for that matter but i personally believe it will happen.
Well obviously if you're not going to put a timeframe on it your belief is a lot more likely to be plausable. As for 'they', I assume you mean SF or Republicans in general - unless Adams and McGuinness are still leading the party in 20+ years time, it's unlikely to be them.

Yes i mean Republican politicians, and i doubt it if they will be leading SF when it happens but when it does happen they will have played a major role in it coming about.

to be fair thats just their tradition.  Not sectarian at all

Alot of "coulds" and "hopes that it was achievable".  With the exception of Doherty there is no predictions as far as i can see.

Bit like saying Man Utd could win the champions league in the next five years.  Possible but not a prediction.

P.s,  sure its still only 2011

some finish today.  Chris Froom did brilliantly to win the stage.  Attacked with about 2 km to go but Cobo caught him and went past him in final km.  Unbelievable how Froome responded on a 20% gradient to go past him again.  Great ride by Dan Martin to finish 4th, he attacked with about 4km to go and had about 20 seconds of a lead but got caught about 2km out, did really well to finish 4th in such a difficult finish

And his old song writing mucker penned this little ditty as well;

And you trust the judgement of someone who (a) believed Heather Mills when she told him she loved him for himself; (b) thought"Mull of Kintyre" was worth recording; and (c) evidently thinks we all believe that he still retains his original chestnut-brown hair at the age of 69

I dunno which of you is the bigger eejit, but at least he's got the money not to care... :D

great comeback  ::) :-[

Wouldnt be too downhearted with the result if i was a Liverpool fan, fair enough you would like to be beating Sunderland but dont forget Sunderland strengthened in a big way over the summer, they signed alot of players and got rid of a lot of dead wood like Henderson (only joking).  Seriously though, i expect Sunderland to put it up to alot of the big teams this year.  As far as anyone slagging off Carrol goes they would need to wise up.  He will cause alot of damage this year and i think he and Suarez will score more than any other front two this season (with the exception of Rooney and Hernandez only).  Liverpool will finish in the top 4 and maybe by that i dont mean 4th, could be higher.
