Rafa off to a good start after a warm reception from the Goodison faithful. The opening 45 minutes was pretty dreadful with Keane's horrendous mistake punished. Rafa must have flung a few tea cups at half time, as well as tweaking the system because the tempo and desire was much better in the second half. Richarlison and Doucoure both excellent. I thought Gray and Townsend both done ok on home debut. Looking at the opening 10 fixtures, it looks kind of favourable....but ye just never know. We need more signings. Right back and a bit of creativity in the middle. Expect James and Kean to be shipped out and whatever money is raised from those sales need to be spent.

Harte and Meyler I thought were both excellent. Harte really stood up when the chips were down....showed great leadership. Meyler gets through a mountain of work every game. Saturday was no different. I thought maybe at the start of the league his confidence was up regarding shooting for scores...he scored a few and and missed a few....but was shooting for point when in the scoring zone....now looks like he's reverted to type...offloads always. Get the ball to dazzler as quickly as possible isn't a bad strategy right enough. Man's on fire.

My head hurts...the drink tasted like nectar last night. Well deserved win with Pickford and Keane both playing a blinder. Tom Davies in a great run of form recently also. With regards to Coleman I thought he had a great game last night and he was brilliant when he came on against Spurs in the cup game. Although he should have buried that header...bad miss from a peach of a cross. I would agree with Delmonte that he has never regained the pre-injury form but what a pro...to recover from such a horrific injury and still perform at a very high level well into his 30s. Man's blue to the core...Big Dunc was giving him a bear hug and smothering him in kisses at the final whistle....great scenes. Hoodoo broken. I expect to win derbies more regularly now with Carlo as manager. Final words for the eyebrow...he got every decision right last night.

Great fighting spirit from the toffees last night, after a shocking first half. So yellow, crab passing and always going back instead of trying to expose slab head and lindelof who are both shite and there to be attacked with pace. Always lovely scoring a big goal with the last kick of the game...a very satisfactory point secured. Some really big games coming up in the next few weeks including City and Liverpool, but the game against Fulham at Goodson is the one that could cause the most pain...given previous inexplicable defeats to the hammers and barcodes.

Richarlison has an injury...came on for the last 15 minutes. Looks out of condition to me. Must have wintered well in Toxteth. Should hopefully have DCL back for the cup game against Sheff Wed and Allan at the end of the month, all going well. What vexes me is how we look a real decent outfit against all the teams that play ball, yet we look utter shite against a team that parks the bus against us. The West Ham defeat on New Year's Day a case in point. I was angry for a week after that game. I suppose we just need a few more creative players. Top 6 has to be the aim this season.

Enjoyed the game last night. Keane and Iwobi both superb and 90 minutes for Digne will help him get his sharpness back. Villa game on Sunday is looking very unlikely to proceed...which is disappointing.

Godfrey and Holgate have done a great job deputizing for the injured fullbacks and all of a sudden Iwobi is looking half decent. I don't expect the eyebrow to change anything dramatically for the Arsenal game. Pickford will come back in even though I've been impressed with Olsen in his 2 outings between the sticks. Doucoure can play the holding midfield role as he was superb last night when Allan went off injured, but Gylfi and Gomes playing together does not excite me so much....both lacking in pace, but maybe I'm being harsh....they've played well in these last few games too. Great to see young Gordon getting a few minutes at the end last night. We'll need him for sure in the upcoming fixtures. After back to back wins I'll be gutted now if we can't turn over the goons at Goodison, but it's been a funny old season so far....majestic at the start, then dreadful for a month...and now looking solid and hard to beat.

Horrible team selection from Ancelotti. Packed the midfield. Zero width. He clearly doesn't fancy young Gordon, which is baffling. Going to Newcastle and playing for a point is unacceptable. We look a different team without Richarlison, and clueless without James. Take out our 2 fullbacks and we look worse than useless. Best we can hope for is not getting beat by United next weekend and then get all the players back fit and ready after the international break.

Dreadful today. Reminiscent of the games towards the end of last season. Flat and uninspiring. And that 3rd kit on display is shocking.

Bit disappointed today with our performance and a few shocking VAR decisions. Richarlison should've had a penalty when his shirt was pulled for the header that hit the post...and he clearly wins the ball for the red card. We're gonna miss him now for the next 3 games. Hopefully young Gordon gets the nod over Iwobi.

O'neill IMO has been shafted for the past 3 years. He's a finisher. Look at the goal chances we've cocked up in big games in recent years. Wrong decisions. Yes he missed that pen in the last league game, that's another question, who's gonna get the nod for pens, Harte has lost his mojo big time...dark times. We need onion sack predators on the sod. Won't surprise me if O'Neill walks. Not even close to a starting spot...Bring on defenders and move utility players into half forward...f**k off
