I can't be bothered checking, but I reckon Arsenal are close to their usual 2 points average per game at this stage most seasons.

That's was Carraghers assertion. He reckons Arsenal are basically the same as they have been but the rest of the teams have dropped a couple of levels which has them looking so good. Will be interesting to see if they can keep it up but the way the other 'big' clubs are performing they've a good a chance as they've had in a long long time!!

That's typical Wenger reductionism from Carragher, even supposed Arsenal supporters are afflicted with it,  reducing Wenger's achievements by introducing other factors that are allegedly favourable. Who can forget the attribution of RVP's goal spree as saving Arsenal's season one year, only for Wenger to do better without Van Persie the next.
36 points from 17 games is a very good achievement and would have Arsenal either in first or second place most seasons. Arsenal have reached this points tally on their own merits and further vindication of Wenger's astounding, unparalleled durable merits as the current best coach in the game in the EPL.
