Perfect place for a team bonding session up the Mournes

Perhaps there's a better thread....however....

Anyone any useful recommendations to prevent condensation gathering on the inside of windows at this time of the year....

Just a problem in the winter mornings....
I've the same problem
Apparently the solution is to install a Positive Input Ventilation (PIV) fan to remove humidity from the air
I had a guy supposed to come over the summer to put one in but never did, thinking of doing it myself

Some people run dehumidifiers in the house if drying washing indoors

Thanks- dehumidifiers listed as one of the options online- something to think about...

We installed a PIV in the loft of an old farmhouse in the Mournes, used by some societies and clubs. When the building isnt in use it got a lot of condensation and mould, the PIV has alleviated this. Really beneficial

Have to say I disagree on this point.   Pearses and Dunloy should be fully recognised and deservedly given full Allstars treatment but at their own championship level.

Senior championship is operating at a higher grade, is more difficult and therefore should be recognised as suchhhhhhhhh.

Am not trying to detract from the Junior or Intermediate championships but those who had a great year in the senior championship such as Adam Loughran, should not be missing out just so someone, playing in a lesser competition can get an allstar.   It doesn't happen at national level.

Caveat: Recognise the Devenish may not want to sponsor 3 awards either!

Knew it was you lol!!

Yeah I sort of agree with that but look, its all about opinions and while its great for the player to be recognised what do you get out of it other than a free dinner?

That said I'm waiting on referee of the year prize award  ;D ;D ;D ;D

you must be good at holding your breath

Top referee Sean Hurson reckons many people find it easy to dehumanise match officials.

Hurson, who refereed this year's All-Ireland SFC final, was speaking at the launch of the national Respect the Referee Day which takes place this weekend which comes after incidents of alleged assaults in recent weeks.

"I think it's a case of trying to establish what the role of the referee is within the association but also at grass roots level so we can turn around and be a valued member and contribute to what is a fantastic sport but also that we are part of it and we are volunteers," the Tyrone man is quoted saying by GAA.ie.

"We're human and we have families. People forget that and see the man in the black jersey as someone who has nothing to do with the association. So it's about 'we all belong' and that's what our perspective is. We want everyone to reset and evaluate what the role of the referee is within the association.

"This last number of weeks or months there has been a high number of incidents and while the committee has been doing work in the background, it has become of national interest that this is not good enough and now is the time to change it and for some supporters to re-focus on how they conduct themselves at games and coaches as well.

"I think today's initiative actually allows people to say, 'maybe I need to change the way I do things'. Maybe instead of being part of an association where we all belong, we are actually alienating elements within the association. At the moment referees are the focus and it gets forgotten that referees are all club people.

"I'm heavily involved with my own club. I'm on the committee and a coach. We all are volunteers because we enjoy it and we love it."

Was at Dunsilly tonight and a great night of games for the year ten schools that played .. well done to the organisers and kids/coaches .. one thing that struck me, in 50 minutes I'd ran 3.5 miles, that's further that some senior championship games this year for 60+ minutes

Is that not saying more about you than  about the standard of the football?? ;D

Need to change (remove) the appeal process. Anyone who lays a hand on a ref, or verbally abuses a ref, should not be able to appeal the sanctions handed down, they should not have the mechanism to reduce their punishment. They should be made to stand outside the ground for each and every day of their suspension.

Was chatting to an official the other day and he said the appeal process at county and provincial level is gone and it goes straight to Croke to be dealt with

Seriously? Wasn't aware of that change. Is that for club players/ matches or inter-county?

But sure CP can reduce their sentence just as easily then

The ref done a disservice to all refs by not taking it to the Garda, a likely reoccurrence if the same to happen somewhere else within 2yrs. As for the Gaa rule book it's a sham, too worried about concerts and money instead of updating the rule book which managers, players, County board take advantage off, used to be there was only one Frank Murphy dodging around the rules, now everybody at it for self gain. Some much for Gaa values of promoting Gaelic games.

How do you know he hasn't went to the Guards? And if he hasn't then that's his own personal prerogative, not everyone wants that hassle.

Surely first and foremost its the GAA authorities who are doing the disservice to the refs by not hanging this guy out to dry. He shouldn't be allowed anywhere near a pitch again, either inside or outside the wire. Plus he shouldn't have the benefit of any appeals process at all, anyone laying a hand on a ref, or verbally abusing one, shouldn't have the benefit of the appeals process, take what you're given.

Will be appealed and reduced further up the chain. If it is then its really a farce

How do you appeal that? Surely the club will stay out of it. Does anyone know how the club dealt with the incident originally?

Clubs appeal everything!! We've a poster on here, same thing happened to him years ago, it was appealed, now in fairness to the guy he probably deserved it  ;D

Aye but you fellow Antrim refs wouldn't back him up....  ;)

And yes, he's a big gub, but he/she/they (incase Enoch has got out of the Joy) without sin cast the first stone.  ;D

Hey!!!
