Title: Programmes & Memorabilia
Post by: Qwerty28 on February 07, 2014, 10:12:50 PM
Well lads...do any of ye collect match programmes, books or any other type of memorabilia? Know doubt most of ye have a large and varied medal collection!!   ;)

Have a decent enough programme collection, although have lost plenty down through the years. Have all the season of sundays books that I've picked up here and there, including one copy I picked up form a lad on here!

So anyone got anything out of the ordinary or a prized possession?

1960 AI Final programme signed by both teams. Given to me by an Antrim man I used to work with.

I brought home the bank of Ireland sign from the hyde after the 2001 Connacht final - not sure why.

That is the essence of dúthracht . What a wonderful gesture.
The 1959 programme wouldn't be the same...

Dhuragh—An additional portion of anything thrown in from
a spirit of generosity, after the Measure agreed on is
given. When the miller, for instance, receives his toll, the
country-people usually throw in several handfuls of meal as
     a Dhuragh.

I've got a limited edit (160 odd) 2013 Ulster senior hurling final program.

It's a bit of an oddity as it was printed in Jan 2014.

Any takers?

Bit of a long shot but I dot suppose anyone would have highlights of any of the Longford games of the mid/late 60s?

My father was telling me recently about going to all the games back then but he missed the All Ireland semi final against Kerry in 1968 as he was in hospital and was saying how he'd love to see some slips of the game! I know the 1968 final is available on dvd but would anyone have any ideas if or where id get highlights of the semi final?
