Quote from: pbat on Today at 10:55:45 AMThe talk of Jarly Og's mark is a red herring, if Jarly was given a bag of O Neills and stood on that spot in Clones till next Sunday he wouldn't have make that kick. Soup should have had a pop at his , but again he had just missed a similar one so he maybe didnt feel good about it. A wild wide and handing back procession to Patton was not the right option. When Conaty dropped short was a turning point I feel,he should have recycled, maybe bit of inexperience but the lad had a great game other than that and his wide at the last.

Very harsh and don't agree with that at all, Jarly Og is well capable of kicking a ball over the bar from 35-40m on the correct side of the pitch given his kicking style. If that was the case he shouldn't have bothered calling the mark in the first instance. I don't particularly like the rule to begin with but it is there to be taken advantage of where spaces in defence are tight in the closing stages of games.

It's a sad indictment of gaelic football that some people think a ball should be recycled backwards from a shooting position inside the 45m line and that they can't trust a player to have a shot at the posts. Playing the low risk percentages might be part of the reason why we can't see out these matches, its a fear mindset.

Only in the GAA do you get people looking for less games for players.

Fancy Tyrone to beat Donegal to top spot. Few weeks training will have them primed to turn over Donegal.

Down 2-10 Mayo 0-15

Thank god for that. Don't know what the point of this competition is?

U20 is development, grade the more matches the better for players. And will be B and C grade competitions in the All Ireland series at U17/minor this year.
The whole tiered championship adds an unnecessary amount of extra more or less meaningless games into an already bloated calendar.

If there's a silver-lining to yesterday's performance it's that Armagh put on an exhibition on why the attacking mark should be ditched. Such a stupid rule.

i keep coming back to the players - the current crop! we definitely have something with the players. getting them all out with a full pre-season behind them and injury free and can beat the best.

Stopping the Limerick powerhorses through the tackle is bring results, reducing the throws handpasses have brought results too, thought Cork for most parts brought that to the game..

Easier said than done considering the size of these lads, and they have a fair bit of skill too.

Not sure if Aaron Gillane scored from play, and that is a huge ask also, so a few things went well for Cork on the day..

The only time though to beat Limerick is in Knockout
