General discussion / Creating an A4 booklet
March 15, 2024, 04:37:57 PM
What program/software did you use to create booklets so you can just go into a printing office and hand them it?

I have used the free version of Canva for years for making gaa programmes and it's been great but would Canva Pro be good. They have excellent templates which are not available  on basic Canva .

Is it worth the 100 quid?

Thanks in advance

I'm looking for someone to give a few images to and they come up with a nice design? It is GAA related but not for a new crest.

Anyone know anyone who could this?

GAA Discussion / Wikipedia and GAA
June 13, 2019, 03:06:49 PM
I am interested to find out who does all gaa work on Wikipedia. Very impressed with the records you can find now. Do the GAA employ people to carry out such work? A lot of players who are not even 'stars' have dedicated Wikipedia pages which are excentally written.

GAA Discussion / Table problems
August 22, 2018, 11:18:48 PM
Two teams finished second in group on equal points
Both teams have played each other twice and both have a win apiece
cant go on score difference as another team at bottom of group have given them walkovers*
Is it a playoff then?

*same team has given them walkovers, can be used then?

this is all hypothetical by the way

So, what's it to be......

With the British GAA having their reception in Westminster, to add to other recent events, has the GAA lost its 'radical' edge; or in fact did it ever have 'this?'

I'm curious to see what the posters think.

GAA Discussion / Presentation of Results
August 22, 2017, 09:40:53 AM
I've gathered information on a particular matter ( which I like to keep quiet until I'm Ready to release it) about GAA players and I want to present as a set of results.

I am just wondering the best way to represent these?

I have the usual things in mind:

- Key findings (Conclusion)
- PowerPoint Presentation
- Breakdown of Results
- Different ways to represent the results ( bar graph , pie charts) ANY OTHER IDEAS ???
- Why I undertook this mini 'questionnaire'
- Sepeartion of Men/Ladies
- why the results are accurate
- who helped me in gathering results

I believe this topic could be first of its kind (I could well be wrong).

Anybody any information on how best I could do this?

Thanks

GAA Discussion / Is it 's or s'?
March 30, 2017, 10:16:41 PM
So when writing about a club is it 's or s'?

For example, it is Padraig Pearse's GAC. When you put it in writing however, would it be.........

Padraig Pearse's Donaghy scored a point

or

Padraig Pearses' Donaghy scored a point

Let the debate commence!

We welcome any GAA clothing to aid the refugees in Palestine and Gaza. This is not just to cloth the refugees, but also to again highlight the mistreatment of Palestinian people under occupation and shows solidarity from the Irish people.

GAA Discussion / O'Neills' Commemorative Tops
February 22, 2016, 11:52:25 PM
So what do people think of all these commemorative tops?

Pure money driven, suppose any business would do the same. Not for me however.

O'Neills make all these 'nationalist' tops and of course the British Army jerseys. Money, money, money.
