Apparently your details can now be accessed by someone standing beside you on a bus/subway with a contactless device. Has anyone looked into purchasing wallets which protect against these scanning devices?

I think that's an urban myth is it not?

Work a fair bit in London at present and have heard the rumours - not sure if anyone has actually been scammed yet however.

I have one of these https://www.secrid.com/en/

It was a present (wouldn't have ever crossed my mind to buy one myself). They certainly do prevent accidental or malicious payments regardless of how likely you think those things are.

Cheers Clov. Definitely would consider getting one!

They are certainly not cheap. I have had my current wallet now for 15yrs. Bought in the Celtic shop in Derry, i lost it one night in Earth nite club in same city and went back the next day to find it had been handed in minus the £50 that was in it.
I keep it in my back pocket most of the time as if i kept it in a jacket i would be sure to keep forgetting it or loosing it. Once i was in Galway and was standing in the crowd watchin a street performer and felt the dam thing been taking from my pocket reached round and grabbed the **** by the hand but he got away. The ole thing has served me well.
