GAA Discussion / Re: James Horan steps down as Mayo manager

Some serious money in play for Westport to be snagging those managers.

Holmes lives in Westport. His (very) Young lads play for Wesport GAA and Westport Utd FC. I'd be surprised if he got anything out of the extraordinary for the under 21 gig!

Horan on the other hand.........

Horan is taking over a good group of lads. Westport have a serious group of lads coming through at present. The bulk of their All Ireland Intermediate club side were under 25 and younger! They won the under 21 County championship with Pat Holmes this year and they have been winning county Minor/under16 titles and so on the last couple of years.

Horan (as you'd expect) is not joining a sinking ship. He has looked at this and sees an opportunity!

We were inspired by your celebrations at getting the same result last Sunday!

Solonke Goal was hand ball. No arguments there! A lot of huffing and puffing.
Yes it hit his hand but it wasn't a deliberate handball.
It hit another part of him first and brushed off his arm/hand. There wasn't much he could do about it.I thought it was very unlucky to be disallowed.
Plenty of huff and puff alright apart from that though.
WBA while they parked the bus for long periods actually attacked more than say Man United  and Everton combined when they played at Anfield.

That's comforting no doubt??  ;D

What's that noise i hear from the dressing room next door?

Ken Norton, Bernard Hopkins, Hakeen the dream. All late bloomers. It happens

Kevin Moran never took up soccer until he started at UCD and only went over to england when he was 21. He became a star for man united and ireland. Says it all really about soccer in the 70's.

Finished that one for you.

?? What does it say about soccer in the 70s? He played most of his career in the 80s. He only joined united in 78 and he played until 1994. He was captain of blackburn for his last couple of seasons when they finished in the top 4 of the premier league.

Apologies - I meant in no way to belittle Kevin Moran or his achievements. It was easier for players who went to England in the 70's and 80's. They'd more than likely get their chance to develop, no matter how late they went. Kevin Moran and Paul McGrath are prime examples of this. Such a situation would never happen today.  Not with the ''Top'' clubs.

In the past United had more money and better players than City - Hence why United won most of the time. The tide has turned.

(Not in my life time)

Mane not squaring the ball when through on goal and three across with an open Goal. A big moment. 2-0 and there is nothing to play for. Klopp took Sala off to early (as it transpired). Everton were so poor, even with them grabbing a point.

Donald, powerlifting (squat, bench, deadlift) isn't done at the Olympics. Weightlifting (Clean&Jerk and Snatch) is. Theyre not the same sport

They not sports at all. They are forms of exercise/bodybuilding.
Define a sport.

An activity involving physical exertion and skill in which an individual or team competes against another or others for entertainment.

I was trying to be nice. Mickey wouldn't have had that lack of pure dirt around him back then.

No, you were being smug! And I'm ok with that. Just had to give you a dig back!

Dunphy just now on RTE.
Liverpool fans are knowledgeable and have a connection with their club unlike say Man United fans..
Lol.

United have plenty of morons as fans with a good few on here. Probably not tonight though as they only appear when Liverpool get beat.

However this is just a typical bullshit comment by Dunphy designed to get some controversy going  and some air time for him.   United are no different to the other big clubs in this respect. Dunphy is just an attention seeking bollox

Joe Brolly,Eamon Dunphy and George Hook basically its RTE gimmick to have a sports pundit like that.

Sometimes you be in the pub and someone will shushhh you cause they want to hear what one of these tools has to say  ;D

Dunphy loves being the one to go against the grain. In fairness to Brolly, at least he stirs thing up with a bit of thought behind it. Spillane on the other hand - embarrassing!
