Its about spreading fear & consumption. The anxiety levels of the western population are going through the roof. We are all going to die from covid, get the covid vaccine that 90 to 95% of our population didn't require. Now climate change, which has happened before, its called a cycle. Truth is we don't have enough credible data from 1000 years ago to build a more reliable picture of whats going on.
Man has fucked this planet, that is without doubt. Nuclear weapons, raped the environment in the name of progress & economic gain. We in the western world consume the worlds resources at an insane rate, mobile phones at least every 2 years, so we can keep up with the eggit next door. New cars every 5 years, new cookers, washing machines, tumble dryers you name it every 8 years. New flat screen tv every 3 years.
The western world is shouting stop, but at the same time encouraging us to gorge ourselves on new chit we don't need.

Yer lanky fella above in the video, can hardly be described as a role model, but he pretty much nails the fad that is the western world. Stop the world I wanna get off.

I would love to know more about the psychology behind the pyromania. Would it be linked to  anti social stuff like anti vac?

Helps drive media reports and climate change fear so a bit of a contradictory position in relation to anti- vaccine advocates.

Is it just a given that nobody in St Endas will take a senior team ? Hurling or football ?
If you'd ever managed a Senior team you would know that players demand a certain level of credibility rightly or wrongly. We obviously don't have any members with 4 or 5 senior medals in their pocket and unfortunately thats what it takes to keep the modern player's ego in check for they always think they know better.  Its all well and good for the clubs with that history but mark my words it'll be the same for all  senior clubs in a year or 2. No-one is a prophet in their own land.

India banning the export of rice the same week that Putin tears up the deal on letting Ukraine get their grain out.

Coincidence or is there a bigger picture.....

Good news for diabetics at least.

Can anybody  work  this out?

Maybe I haven't  woken up  properly yet.  Born a female, she came out, is transgender  AND non-binary.   :o

But more importantly, should she  be playing in the "women's" World Cup?

A narcissist stealing the dreams and careers of talented young women who want to play sport at the top level.
They can do what they want but stay out of womens sport.

Question MR 2.

If Nicky Quaid went down with a contact lense issue - although clearly there was nothing wrong and he was just cleverly slowing things down as Limerick were 6 pts down but Galway had the momentum.

It was clever play acting by an experienced operator.

What is the rule there? Can a ref just say get up, there's nothing wrong and I know what you're at?

We all know what he was at and in fact you can see the ref having a word with him.

He could do what ever he wants and deal with the repercussions afterwards, he could book him for feigned injury, he could throw the ball in on the twenty one for not pucking the ball out when instructed.

Problem is he takes helmet off claims an injury play stops regardless, ref has a word gets a booking or hop ball and the play of slowing it down is still achieved!

Having an injury sin bin won't have desired effect either as it's wasting even more time!! Fullback takes keepers jersey off faffs about and we are no further on.

I'm not a doctor and I'll not take the responsibility of a fake injury or real one. If play is in front of an injured player I'll play on, though the moaning of "head injury, he could be dying" ( I shit you not some shouted that for a wrist injury!!)

But those things I've mentioned are what the ref can do

Correct Mr2 not much the Ref can do in this situation.

It needs looked at from a rules perspective, the umpires are there and can see if there has been contact with the GK to cause an injury of any description. If this is not the case and the GK deliberately takes the helmet off, slowing the game down then I think a 21 yard free as a consequence would soon put a stop to it.

Watch how quickly the helmet would go back on in that situation. Even the threat of this as a punishment makes it too big a risk for a GK to take.
Endemic in the Antrim club game now as well, our lads used to get pissed off at how the more established teams tried to manage the game momentum swings. They are as bad as the rest of them now. Hard to see how you fix it.

Everyone needs a tribe. I work with a lot of "PUL" people, some love the whole "carry on", others are embarrassed by it. The enthusiasts are not bad people but they enjoy the opportunity for a get- together and a bit of craic. Not saying for a minute there aren't bad actors involved but the same can also be said of our side. Humans are savages, thats how we got to be the apex predators.
Choose not to be paranoid/offended and the headers will lose their grip.

If we weren't so wasteful with tax revenues we might have developed a cheap and reliable mass transit system by now. Cars would be way less of a necessity, EV or otherwise. They would probably be more expensive but it would be a price worth paying in this climate emergency.

And petrol is as pure as the driven now. People forget about Saudi Arabia and human rights abuses and the correlation between oil and authoritarianism. Petrol is on the way out anyway.i

But they reinvest in football clubs so you know.. every cloud and all that.
No industry is 100% clean and the electric is no different

Oil is the precursor to all the plastics we used in car manufacturing so the demise of petrochemicals is over egged.
Spent a bit of time in China last month, they have at least 10 brands of EVs, not to mention all the scooters, tuk-tuks etc. (BYD is coming here shortly I believe). Big tax breaks are driving the market there but they are also effectively cornering the market for the rest of the world for drive line and batteries etc. Is that a good thing?? And they are backing it up with massive electricity infrastructure. A lot of it coal fired because it's fastest to bring on line and they have loads of coal. Nuclear is under way as well but they take longer to build.
A lot of green washing going on here in my humble opinion.

Problems with electric cars...

1) They look f**king horrendous. You'd need a paper bag over yer head to drive one as you'd die from embarrassment
2) The cost of them is scandalous
3) Time to charge them and lack of chargers. Who has time to wait on car charging at a charging point or waiting for one to become free
4) They'll be obsolete in about 5-10 years.
5) Contrary to popular belief they are not some environment saving vehicle that produces only rainbows and fluffy rabbits as by products.

Trailer's verdict... Avoid

I actually saw on the news that Dublin port are running a pilot boat on some bio diesel. No modifications needed to the engine at all. Will work in all diesel engines. That is where this is headed.
1. Depends on the price
2. Leasing is good value
3. Most people charge at home. It's much cheaper than petrol
4. If they are , leasing is a good idea
5. Battery technology continues to improve. Less pollution than petrol. Less waste of energy

5. Only if you forget that you have to actually make the battery in the first place

The cobalt mining practices in The Congo for all these batteries can't be ignored plus the adoption of nuclear to provide an effective power source being overlooked as well.

Things have taken a turn for the worst here. Work, home life and the illness of a close friend has really knocked me back on my heels totally.

Things will get better but at the minute it's hard to see that happening.
Eat real food( if it has more than 5 ingredients leave it on the shelf) and get out and walk. Take it back to basics, no head phones, no sunglasses, just put one foot in front of the other. Life's best medicine!
