Quote: anyone at the minor game last night? how they play?

Harps Minors beat Madden by four points on Monday night.
Good game but come half time with madden two points up and Harps playing downfield with a notable breeze (especially in Ballymacnab) it was thought that two points wasnt a good enough lead. Turns out it wasnt

They now play Ogs in Mick Higgins Final against the old rivals on Monday 2nd July in Abbey Park.

By all accounts this team, as well the Under 16s who have performed so well, deserves all the credit for their showings to date and the final should be a good match.

GAA Discussion / Re: referee's fitness
June 05, 2007, 04:17:33 PM
El correcto foinntamhnach,

i referee within Armagh and the test we had to pass was as follows:

For all referees:
6 laps continous running untimed
sprints out to and backwards from endline to 21m and then 45m and finally midfield.

Not too bad by any standards, but in all honesty when even at AI Standard will a referee have to run 3200m without any break in play where some breath can be retained. Although in saying that for most proper referees fitness isnt a problem as most are ex players or in my case, part time players.

General discussion / Re: I am not a racist but....

im not racist either but i just cant understand them indians, pakistanis etc at all so rather than try and talk to them and understand what they want i just hang up.

I was contacted the other day via a scottish call centre and while the call was to do with banking standards and services offered etc. the operator managed, with my help, to talk his way round from banking to cars, and how diesel is better over petrol and some potential premiership transfers.

All in all not a bad phone call.

in terms of being an overachiever - i would classify this as a sh1te player on a good county team Mal Mackin continually overachieves in my view and how he comes on as a sub in any game for Armagh is the biggest overachievment of all.

Just your average table quiz spirit, theres the usual picture and sports rounds, no limit to teams, which, i think are picked on the night should be good craic. From what ive heard a good mixture of the young and old.

******

Just a mention for Conor Coulter when playing for the minors last night against Perase Ogs, had to retire due to a head injury caused by an accidental onfield collision. Hope you get better soon.

Good win yesterday, hopefully steers the team toward other silverware this year. Thought Carvalho in 1st half was excellent and introduction of Robben was masterclass.
Although imo this game really showed who will be top in england in the next ten years, Arsenal have some great youth players coming through unlike ourselves :'(
