More like frozen lakes when it comes to McHale..

How's that massively expensive new Hyde pitch behaving itself ....... where a couple of weeks ago (Ros v Down) it wasn't able to handle a double header meaning Ros ladies v Meath was moved....

The pitch was so rock solid (after a week of showers) for the FBD final that the ball bounced over a Galway back to Enda, leading to a goal for us.

The worm has turned and it's yer pitch that's the provincial embarrassment..
I suppose it's too much to expect an expression of gratitude to Connacht Council and it's visionary Secretary for funding and guiding the pitch redevelopment :P :P :P

RTÉ news has been having a health crisis week.
Shock horror - numbers on trollies gone up as more people get sick in mid winter.
Or else Bowers was the only journalist rostered for the Christmas and New Year.
No need to expand services in Roscommon Hospital then!

Mayo / Re: Promising Players for Mayo 2018

Some nice touches at time but the conditions destroyed any attempt at good football. Positive displays for Park, Butler,McCormack, Douglas and Treacy of the starters and from Gibbons, Naughton and Gallagher of the subs. Big Barry had a poor 40 mins and a few of the new boys will hope for another chance. All in all ....not much to  see.

17 February: Fulham Irish or Corofin v Moorefield (Kildare)

Possible venue for that game?

If it's a Corofin Moorefield semi final it'll probably be Tullamore you'd think, roughly half way between both counties.
If it's Fulham Irish v Moorefield probably Páirc Tuatha De Danann, Oiléan Mhanann, roughly half-way between both counties. ;D

Roscommon, with a Connacht title under their belt and hardened by a season in Div 1 plus the return of players "not available" last year must be well set up to do well this year. Despite the drubbing in the Croke Park replay they still have a potent forward line, above average midfield and potential to strengthen the defence. In McStay they have a top class coach. I'd be disappointed if they are not promoted.

19 games played the half way stage. Manchester City 13 points clear the league title as good as won already and will win it for certain probably by early April. Chelsea and Manchester United should finish 2nd and 3rd. A real battle for 4th between Tottenham,Liverpool and Arsenal.

My team of the season so far.

DeGea
Valencia
Otamendi
Alonso
Azpilicueta
Salah
DeBruyne
Coutinho
Silva
Sterling
Kane
Every team bar United and Chelsea are now closer to the relegation zone than they are to City. Can't understand anyone picking a team of the season without Fernandinho.

Donie Vaughan signing up for Castlebar next season.

Did he have a falling out with someone at the club? The distance excuse obviously doesn't wash. Ballinrobe is about 20 minutes down the road. Not great optics to leave your club as soon as they are relegated. I'm sure they were hoping he'd lead them straight back up.

Did he think playing intermediate football would affect his Mayo chances? Don't see how it would as long as he performed. Plenty of great players on intercounty teams from intermediate clubs.

New shoe shop in Castlebar
Hardly a good enough excuse for such a switch.

Not even accurate - has had a shop in Castlebar for past few years.
Care to comment on Stephen Broderick transfer to Ballintubber or Jason Gibbons' eligibility for that matter. Pot and kettle I'd say!

Any reason given for the Vaughan transfer?
From the outside it looks like poor form.
I have no idea but he owes nothing to anybody. I saw him play from u12 onwards in South Mayo championships where his teammates were being hammered and he was running about like a firefighter trying to put out a series of fires. Perhaps it's just ambition.  Many talk of a club for life and if that's what they believe in well and good. There are many clubs in the county that have driven a coach and four through the rule book and yet their members will castigate Vaughan. I wish him well and hope our own club beat the lard out of them.

Last summer he had Meath in the top 6 I think. He's clueless.

Leitrim, Galway and Cavan is all you need to beat to be a top six team in Ireland. You should be proud to be gatekeepers :-*

How MB fathomed Mayo were lucky to draw the Kerry match is beyond me, they should have won it by a cricket score.
His Galway begrudgery come out every now and then. What would you expect from an ass but a kick!

With many Mayo clubs training in the midland rather than at home a manager could easily claim €100 in travel exps and meal allowance tax free. A club with a decent accountant would have no problem sorting that out.

Jerusalem debacle, sexual assualt claims, the Russia Files, and now net neu-f**king-trality disappearing. Hope them hicks that voted for Trump never are able to stream a porno into their trailer again.
This is more of what I'm saying about our inability to understand the USA. You mention Jerusalem and net neutrality as if they were two areas in which Trump is out of line with American thinking. He's not. Congress, both Reps and Dems have repeatedly backed this policy. Few Americans can understand any system that does not allow capital influence decision making therefore a web provider accepting payment to promote one product/site over another is like mother's milk to them. Time to be thankful you live in a highly regulated EU.

Au contraire:
Poll: 83 percent of voters support keeping FCC's net neutrality rules

Everyone knows there's widespread bipartisan support for net neutrality in the US. Literally anyone who isn't in the telecoms industry has no reason not to. Republican senators were even streaming out opposing the FCC vote and the speed at which the reckless maniac Trump put in charge of the FCC is pushing it through. MrHardy's claims of having some sort of insight into the US took a big hit with that one.
Everyone knows is a broad statement.

A poll showing 83% support for net neutrality in USA is about as reliable as the latest poll from CNBC showing support has dropped to 52%. What percentage of people in Ireland or the USA understand what net neutrality is without having the concept explained to them? I don't  claim to have any great insight into the US, indeed as I've pointed out early it's incomprehensible at times as I think it is to most people coming from European social democracies. In this regard I think that you like many others project your own opinion onto Americans and expect to find that's that how they will think/react. From what I see and hear from people in US that I would expect to react as the "centre-ground" would here, they don't.

Is there any backstory to this. The two clubs are closeby...
I know of lads who switched clubs in the hope of staking a county claim, but that isn´t the case here.
Also if there was a rip-roaring row usually the team that is losing out digs in their heals and lodges an appeal.
Just all seems a bit pointless for him to dump his home club...
No grounds for an appeal. If he is living in Castlebar he is entitled to a transfer.
