Laois / Re: The future of laois hurling
May 23, 2023, 08:47:51 AM
Portarlington's minor hurling resuls are very impressive. Fair play to the people involved. And they seem to be doing OK at under 15 and under 13 too. It would be great if an adult club got going in that corner of the county rather than seeing the young lads either give it up or get siphoned off by the more traditional clubs.

This weekend

Rugby champions cup final
English Premier League second last round of matches
League of Ireland
USPGA
Katie Taylor homecoming fight

Club league match for me tonight, Laois v Offaly in Portlaoise tomorrow evening and watch whatever other GAA games I can. MOTD and MOTD2 will do me for the soccer.

I've a hunch we (Laois) might secure our spot later today.

Just by the skin of their teeth!

Going man to man and playing "traditional open football" against the likes of O'Callaghan, Kilkenny & co. will certainly help secure your place in the Tailteann Cup without any great difficultly.

It worked well alright. Shored it up at half time which should have been the starting set up.

O'Dempseys and Killeshin drew in the Old Pound. Poor enough game. Both team extremely short from last year's team.

How is Brian Daly allowed play a league game 9 or 10 days before we Laois play Wexford? Not disagreeing with it by the way but are all county lads playing club games this weekend?

Anyone know the story with James Kelly of St Josephs? Doesn't seem to be involved this year - thought he was one of the better performers anytime I saw him last year.

Leitrim 2-14 Laois 0-18.   Table Sligo 10,leitrim 8,Wicklow 8,Laois 8.   Leitrim v Sligo next weekend where the winner will be promoted.
I think you could potentially have 5 teams on 10 points
Four at most. Laois looking for a Leitrim win if they can win in London. Wicklow need a Sligo win or draw to edge Laois on head to head (again if Laois beat London).

The sooner you all recognise that Ewan is never wrong about anything, the sooner you'll understand his magnificence.
He was explaining it all to a banker today.
Ewan is more intelligent than all the bankers in the world put together so he doesn't actually need to work in finance to know everything there is to know about it.

Laois playing 1 of their most important games of the year in Belfast. GAAGO commentators dull as dish water so turn on Midlands 103...

...who are playing Bryan Adams 'Please Forgive Me'.

You constantly put 90s music ahead of our hurlers and footballers. You ignore us, you are short with us, you give us lip service but we know you don't really care about the things that are important to us. We are finished. I cannot forgive you.  :'(
Just on that, and I've been a critic of Midlands 103 many a time, they had a dedicated Twitter stream of live commentary from the game. Pat O'Sullivan and Enda Lyons. I just couldn't manage to sync it with GAA Go.

Goal just before HT was a killer. McManus far too strong for Fonzie for it.
Thought Shanahan was decent. Aaron Dunphy too. Jack Kelly probably our best player though.
All focus must be on Westmeath game now. Dublin game is basically a challenge match.

Could this come down to score difference in the end or does head to head decide it.
Head to head if two teams. Scoring difference if more than two teams.
