I see that Derry are favorites to win. I don't get this at all.... I think that laois are for more organized and have stronger players than Derry. Long trip for players but I think laois will win this match.
Stronger players than Derry ?? Are you serious ? Derry are physically a very big team . A spine of Rogers , McKaigue , McAtamney , Bell,  McGuigan , McFaul, Cassidy , Heron , Lynn and E Bradley is fairly strong in my opinion . Derry only lost to Tyrone by a few points and absolutely smashed Wexford the last day out so we can't afford to be going up North with this arrogance on Saturday . Derry might be about the same level as ourselves .If we play to our full potential and with Donie and Evan BOTH starting we can sneak it . Anything below par could equal a tough day out .

Meath up next . Was at their game against Carlow and they will be a big step up from Westmeath especially with their pacy fowards in the wide spaces of Croke Park . Offaly gave them a big scare so if we apply ourselves well we have a chance . It will be important to keep it very tight and crowded in the backline and try to get quick quality ball into O'Carroll (and Donie if he plays ) . I wouldn't like to see our backs left in one to one battles with their fowards therefore we will need to crowd it and force turnovers . Timmons( broken arm )will definitely be out  and Begley( ankle )is doubtful . We may see booth going fullback and Attride coming back into the corner . If Begley is out I expect Pigott to be given the nod at centre back . I Think scully is more than worth his play either as a half back or half foward.

Are we up against Dublin or Wicklow? Think they are playing each other on Saturday ?
Well it will be the winner that we play obviously . Can we not also play the winner of Meath and Westmeath ??

Diarmuid Whelan and Jack Owens did a lot of the scoring . O'Flynn , kinsella and Barry weren't allowed play cause of senior panel commitments . Pity Saunders isn't involved . Niall Dunne from Courtwood and Eoin Dunne of Rosenallis had good games . Saying all that Wexford were horrendous

Too slow. Too many passengers on a fast sod. It was only a matter of time before Brody's forays cost a goal. I can't see how it helps, he is usually the link man between 2 lads 15 yards apart. Evan O'Carroll only forward. Need to replace older lads with faster young fellas soon.
What young lads would u suggest using ?

I think my question was mis-interpreted as it was phrased rather badly.

I was really asking are they better than the results suggest? I was surprised that they lost to Louth (not so much to Westmeath) and I was wondering are they missing a few lads for one reason or another. To see poor aul Ross Munnelly slaving away when he deserves his retirement suggests a lack of talent coming through.

Laois usually get the better of Longford and Sat will probably be no different. I will head there anyway..........Laoislad never replied to my text asking if he'd meet up for a Chicken burger after!
I'll meet up with ye for a chicken burger ? What's the Robbie Smyth situation ? Many mullinalaghta lads commmiting ?

Garett was brilliant today and taken off o Connor was a harsh decision all said we cruised last year this year we are been found out a little and so is our system but John has played so many lads he deserves credit because players genuinely know there getting a Craic of the whip for that I think were doing ok
We didn't cruise last year . We got the job done in most of the games .

We seemed to be comfortable enough in the first half but when Westmeath decided that they'd like to win the game, we let them without much of a battle. Our play from half back to half forward was predictable, slow and ponderable while Kingston at full forward offered very little. Not sure why they didnt just leave O Carroll in there and let Donie drift.
I understand that the overall party line is 'we are building a team' but with the age profile through the spine of todays team Im not sure how true that can be. Booth, Dillon, Begley, Meaney, Johno, Lillis, Munnelly all over 30 with Kingston and Cahillane not far off it either. Where are their replacements going to come from to bring us to a top 12 county?
Think Boyle is over 30 as well

This should lead to a reform of the senior football championship structure. I'd like to see the number of senior clubs reduced to 9 and three area teams making it up to 12 teams in the championship.
Based on last year's quarter finalists if I remember them rightly, Portlaoise, O'Dempseys, St Joseph's, Graiguecullen, Ballyroan Abbey, Stradbally, Emo and Portarlington would be senior clubs. Throw in Ballylinan as 2017 finalists for an example as the ninth senior club.
Then you could have 3 very decent area teams. One would be Mountmellick, Ballyfin, Clonaslee area, one would be Killeshin, Crettyard, the Arles teams etc and one would be Heath, Annanough, Courtwood, Timahoe etc.
The pick of Killeshin Crettyard and the two Arles clubs would do a fair job on Emo if that's the case
