Rocwell still Tyrone sponsors

Tyrone sponsors Rocwell
11 November 2009

The Tyrone county board has denied reports that sponsors Rocwell have run into financial problems and won't be able to continue their sponsorship next year.

The Pomeroy-based water company was angered at recent speculation that they had gone into liquidation. Owned by brothers Frank and Michael Quinn, Rocwell took over the Tyrone sponsorship in 2004, initially signing up for four years in a deal believed to be worth in the region of EUR700,000, before committing to a new three-year deal which started last year.

Tyrone PRO Damien Harvey told the Irish Daily Star: "Our bottom line is that Rocwell have another year to run on their sponsorship deal and we are looking forward to renewing acquaintances over the next year.

"They are very much there and they are looking forward to their other year left.

"Anything we have been hearing is all rumour and Brian Quinn himself is keen to dispel it.

"They have been very good sponsors to us and have put a lot of money into Tyrone GAA and we are happy to stick with them through this."

Great news. I've a lot of time for Brian Quinn ;D

Sorry my first post didn't come up.what i was saying was that martin mckeown seems to be the only ardboe player in line for a trial. in my opinion i reckon bella would be a much better addition.

Collie played in all 3 All-Ireland finals.  Not many can say that.

And won them all ;D. As somebody mentioned he had a great game in the 2005 final and was also to the fore in the massacre of the Dubs in 2008. A great servant to Tyrone and good luck to him.

Think there's not a hope in hell of Marty McKeown going to a Tyrone trial.
He didn't go when he was a minor and he wont have changed in the intervening 4 years.
