I saw him play in ASU in Tempe about 15 years ago. He was a brilliant guitarist, that's for sure. You had to be in the mood to listen to him, as any blues/jazz musician I suppose, but when you were in the mood, he was brilliant.

Seen him twice in Blackpool and Manchester - like all those great blues guys he knew how to work an audience - he got recognised for his unique style of guitar playing but I just loved his voice (Hummingbird being a favourite)

I saw him in the Stadium in probably late 1987 - great show and a great entertainer; his recordings don't really capture that.
