Did anyone else ever have the dentist come to their school and tell them that if they had a packet of crisps and a mars bar for break - to eat the crisps first so that they would get stuck in your teeth and not the chocolate (Which im guessing would be worse for the teeth if it got stuck)?
Or did we just have dentists like that around Tyrone. :-\

Well if IOR gets to unload on the lot of ye, than so do I.

Lived in Dublin from 1996-'06, and I lived everywhere from Foxrock to Santry and several bits inbetween. Met an Aussie girl the night of the 2004 All Ireland in Nealons on Capel St, we had the year together in Dublin and had decided that she would stay. Visa didn't work out for her in Ireland and we weren't prepared to get married just for the sake of it. I had just been promoted to quite a senior position (for my age) in the company I was in at the time in Dublin, decision needed to be made. Was it career and stay in Dublin forever and ever, or take the risk.

So I said, f**k it. I've been 10 years in this place and things are only starting to turn around, but I'll regret this if I don't at least try it. Moved out here to Sydney on the 30th December 2005, enjoying it so far but the first 12 odd months were a tough slog in terms of visa restricitions and only able to work 3 month contracts, I wasn't out here backpacking like the majority of the Irish you'd meet out here. Settled into a good permanent role a few months back and enjoying the challenge once again.

It can get a bit lonesome when glued to MWR listening to the Stephenites play and her coming in from bed to ask me to stop roaring at the laptop with my headphones on, and you do miss out on some occasions with friends and family. But on the whole it's been a very positive thing for me.
For the moment I can see Oz being home for quite a few years yet - but you never know what life sometimes has in store for you around the corner so I'm always loathe to hang my hat on these sort of decisions. And I think I'd like to get back at some stage......

Whatever decison you make - I hope it works out for you 100% , I think mine has for now

Glad to know Im not alone!!! :D :D :D :D

You are actually supposed to have the ratio in favour of the vegetables due to the higher sugar and calorie content of the fruit. However eating a bunch of fruit is definitely a better alternative to scarfing down galaxy and bags of walkers. I guess it depends on what a serving of fruit/veg is. Id have a banana or two, an apple and some sort of veg with lunch or dinner most days. I guess I eat that much that my idea of a serving might be one or two real servings.

Could you imagine the media frenzy if the likes of this happened with two GAA footballers?  :o

Memories are short! Did Graham Geraghty not box the head of a fellow team mate?

Yes, and there was quite a media frenzy!

Uladh you sound like someone who has needed a therapist in the past.

How can you say there is "not a shred of evidence against them"
The Childs DNA was found in a car hired 25 days after her "disappearance", that is quite hard to explain. Obviously you take your opinions and assumptions from the British gutter press, where rather than question the evidence at face value they decide to attack the Portugese and their methods. Strands, no clumps of the childs hair were found in the boot of the car, I suppose you and your ilk in the British media think the Portugese Police "planted" that to make the McCanns look bad.
I think the McCanns have looked bad from day 1. They left 3 little children on their own, while they wined and dined with their "friends", a fact that the media has either overlooked or swept under the carpet. The whole find Maddy campaign quickly became a media circus and the little girl was soon forgot about, her parents became celebrities and embarked on a "tour". Did they really expect to find her in the Vatican?
Of course I may be wrong, but I base my opinions on my own instincts, not on what I read in the British tabloids. But their child is still "missing" and its is their fault, no one elses.

Correct - but this makes no one automatically guilty of whats being suggested.

The truth of the second sentence remains to be seen

Pink is the new black - or so the salesman said... :-\

Britney really is a fine bird, however, she has put on a lot of weight and lost the shape after having 2 kids.It happens but she knew she was not ready and still tried it out and now looks like an idiot. The yoke crying is another setup by the record company I reckon, for britney and them there is no such thing as bad publicity.
I made a recording after Mayos 2006 final beating, it was along those lines but with more cursing and blinding.I was cursing kerry and their greed.
All things considered - she doesnt look bad for having two kids. I think most men would take their wives lookin like that after givin birth to two hefty lumps.

I thought it was a woman and had a notion of her.

I can empathise though. It's exactly how I felt when Mark Harte was hauled of in Omagh to the cheers of derision.
