Frank Burns had a big performance, in from the start, helped Tyrone massively in transition. Kennedy and Kilpatrick very good in the middle and covered serious ground. Canavan and McCurry a real handful inside and a lot better from McShane in terms of showing and ball winning. McGeary and Meyler will have better days in a Tyrone jersey than today.
Ruairi Canavan added to the Tyrone bench today, is that confirmation that he won't be released for U20s this year?
Good to see Oguz back, hopefully see gametime over the remaining 5 games.
In saying all that, Donegal absolutely awful, still be improvements needed to get anything from Galway or Mayo on the road.

Can anyone shed any light on whether the following players in the panel or what their story is:

McNamee (assuming injured)
Michael O'Neill
Peter Teague
Michael McGleenan
Ruairi Canavan
Joe Oguz
Nathan Donnelly

I'm guessing the following players must be gone:

Ben McDonnell
Niall Kelly
Michael conroy
Ryan Coleman
Ryan mccusker
Johnny Munroe

Ronan McNamee - unsure
Michael O'Neill - likely injured
Peter Teague - long term injury
Michael McGleenan - injured
Ruairi Canavan - injured
Joe Oguz - injured
Nathan Donnelly - left panel

Ben McDonnell -  left panel (travelling)
Niall Kelly - unsure
Michael conroy -  left panel (travelling)
Ryan Coleman -  left panel
Ryan mccusker - dropped from panel
Johnny Munroe -  left panel
Sean Loughran, Matthew Murnaghan and Lorcan Quinn are also no longer part of the panel.
Unsure about Conor Shields and Padraig McNulty.

Think tyrone will struggle over the next few years. Need to do some rebuilding with some of the senior members naturally stepping away in the next year or so. Need a big year from mcshane next year if there is any hope of staying competitive.

Agree with McShane. If he can't hold a place in the team, you have think he's not going to ever be that consistent threat that we need.
I don't see a place in my strongest Tyrone team for McShane. I see Tyrone's strongest forward line as being Conor Meyler, Darragh Canavan, Niall Sludden, Darren McCurry, Mattie Donnelly and Ruairi Canavan. I think McShanes best role is his 2021 role coming into games as an impact.

My team would look something like:
Niall Morgan
Michael McKernan Ronan McNamee Padraig Hampsey
Frank Burns Peter Harte Kieran McGeary
Brian Kennedy Conn Kilpatrick
Conor Meyler Darragh Canavan Niall Sludden
Darren McCurry Mattie Donnelly Ruairi Canavan

Would love to see Peter Teague, Aidan Clarke, Emmett McNabb and Joe Oguz put together good league campaigns and then be in a position to offer something to the team come championship.

Very good referee performance from Stephen Campbell. He looks like a man that would fit in well with the inter county referees. Give that man credit where credits due.
Got the big call before half time wrong that led to Errigals goal that ultimetly proved to be the difference at the end. The play should have been stopped after Peter Og McCartans late hit on James Donaghy, didn't give it let play develop and led to Errigals goal.

Things I learned tonight.

Stephen McHugh was the manager in the Stephen Duo.
Very harsh, Coalisland were missing Tiarnan Quinn, Cormac O'Hagan and Paddy McNeice. Those 3 players turn Coalisland immediately back into contenders. Ferguson just very unlucky to have been in this year.

Donaghmore have had the capability to pull points out of the bag over the years on either through the phone or on the pitch. I think they will be safe enough this time even in defeat. I can't see Moortown beating Errigal.

I just noticed from looking at the dates/times/venues of the 1st round of championship games, I see that the JFC 1st Round tie between Coalisland thirds vs. Drumquin isn't listed. Safe to presume that Coalisland have withdrawn their thirds team completely for this year then with Drumquin getting a bye into the quarter finals? Nothing confirmed on the fixtures on the county website.

I see the game is now conceded by Coalisland on the County website. Surely a redraw for the junior championship is needed.
The way things stand Drumquin's opponents in the quarter final will already have played two championship games (prelim and 1st round) before meeting Drumquin in the quarter final.

A farce, County board are a disgrace for entertaining these thirds team and making a mockery of the junior league and championship.
What does that say about the 10 teams that finished below Errigal 3rds?
Donaghmore, with 2 fairly strong minor panels coming through will be competitive  the next few years.

It has already been established that Errigal Ciaran with three clubs amalgamated into one, are the only team that has a reasonable chance of making it.

As for Donaghmore's strong minor panels, this is why we have an U19 competition.

County board need to have a serious think about situations like this, either set up a hobby league with regular fixtures or split D3 into D3A and D3B

Should all those Donaghmore lads just quit when they are 19 then? If Donaghmore have the numbers willing to commit and put the required effort in they should be accommodated, like Errigal were.
And for a bonus point name the 3 clubs that merged to form Errigal.

Donaghmore already have two adult teams in adult to cater football for these lads, strong talk around here that they have approached Coalisland for points this weekend.
Donaghmore approaching Coalisland for points and Clonoe approaching Trillick for points this weekend.
