Quote from: NAG1 on Today at 11:58:01 AMSpeaking of Dele Ali, has there ever been a worse guest on Monday Night Football on Sky, Carragher trying his upmost to involve him asking him questions and setting him up with lines but still couldn't get anything out of him.

Personal highlight was when he was doing the analysis of the Arsenal game and he kept having to ask the score in the game  ;D

I would be hoping he wasn't relying on a media career.

I'd say its grand having a chat with your mates about football, completely different when there's a mic shoved in your face and knowing there would be millions watching lol!

In fairness I think for him he hasn't actually done any research on anything lol.. He'd no idea about certain games and seems as if he doesn't watch that many either.

Jamie is completely clued in and a veteran of doing this, the professionals make it look easy

I'd expect as bare minimum to know the score in the game  ;D

That many goals going in I lost count

Quote from: Dag Dog on Today at 10:53:14 AMRumours that McIlroy is ready to jump to LIV.
That will be some u-turn for him, but maybe a sign that LIV are going to win eventually.

Does LIV provide an actual work life balance in this sport?

What happened to the merge

Quote from: Tones on Today at 10:22:00 AMYears ago a guy in work left as Joe on a Friday and came back few weeks later as Joanne, mail went round in the intervening period to explain what was happening, to be respectful etc. words like inclusion, diversity, equality etc were rightly within the mail.  It was all rather surreal as Joe he was 6'4 in his 40's married with kids (marriage ended with the change), after some time took 6 months leave and then came back to a different office.  As liberal minded as anyone could be to see someone - especially so tall - whom you worked with for years walk in to the office in heels, a dress, some sort of false boobs, a wig, makeup and a handbag turned heads!

Do you think he took the easy option or just wanted to piss people off? (This is not directed at you btw Tones)

Remember years ago watching an interview about a fella that struggled with his sexuality, he was gay but hid it for so long as the alternative would be far worse due to the way society viewed difference.

Verbal and physical abuse  was standard, so can you imagine what it must be like to make that change?

I can understand why so many people try and have a 'normal' life as that is the easier option on the outside but christ it must be a mental struggle keeping up appearances

Trans is a thing, are people sometimes abusing it for themselves? Yeah absolutely. But I wouldn't wish whats going on in their heads to my worst of enemies

Quote from: imtommygunn on April 15, 2024, 09:14:09 AMI don't think IT band syndrome would cause swelling - it would cause you the pain right enough. Just to double check - what's the status of your shoes?

Strengthening would be more round your glute med so the band stuff MR says there would help.

Marathon is the June bank holiday weekend.  When I started out on my run yesterday, it did go through my head that my runners were done. Would this be part of the problem??

Depending on the shoe, 400 miles is plenty and then change, keep them for farting about but for benefit change them ..

June should (depending on actual injury) give ya plenty of time, 5 weeks of slow low mileage running while getting over the injury and few long runs beforehand!

Dunloy and Ballycran were smart! The game was moved an hour earlier and missed the rain altogether

Quote from: EOC1923 on April 14, 2024, 10:59:06 PMSurely the guy in the back room team throwing pathetic digs at half time will be removed immediately from the set up, embarrassing stuff.

Yeah, anyone that's not involved on the team getting themselves involved with that type of carry on needs removed, embarrassing altogether.

So glad it never happens at club level...

fella threw a dig in the heat of the moment, it happens far more than it should, hopefully he apologised after to the other lad. Take the suspension and move on, if it was a player who threw a dig would we be saying he should never play for us again?

Players are different. Youre in a physical battle on the field. Things are said, contact made, adrenaline etc
The fella throwing boys to the floor and punches is a Statman. 100% should be gone!!!
Like he said

So anyone not named as a player or as a sub, should be thrown out? That's ok? Seen plenty injured players having fisty cuffs during games but because they are players (but not playing) its all part of the craic?

That  IT band syndrome can really scupper things, the only time I did physio was for that thing, do some sessions with the physio and then strengthen that up with the using the rubber bands and squats and so on..

If you have done 9 weeks of training you'll not all of a sudden lose that, as Jim says short slow runs and obviously good cushioned trainers.

When is the marathon?

Quote from: From the Bunker on April 14, 2024, 08:26:26 PMComing into the business end of the season with Champions league Matches midweek is a huge distraction. Today's game sandwiched in between games v Bayern Munich takes a good squad and huge mentality. The game turnaround leaves little time for preparation.

In fairness Villa played Thursday night

In fairness yes, LOSC - 4th in the French League.

Points wise I think Lille are closer to the top than Bayern are.

How did you mange to spell lose correctly first then spell it wrong in the same sentence?

 It's 'manage'

If I checked all the spelling on his 3 accounts I'm sure I'd be here all night
