Liverpool rode by VAR again. Imagine my shock

These things even themselves out over the season ....

And I say that sounds like something a referee would say. They know incompetence when they see it, or not

The red fcuked Liverpool on Kane not VAR? Thats my understanding anyway

I thought both Kane's and Robertson's tackles were yellows

At least Shearer could laugh about it when asked on MOTD2 whether England captains avail of a leniency from Premiership referee's....

Robertson red all day as was Kane's.

Jota denied a stonewall penalty and the lame excuse that he stopped deliberately to bring on the contact doesn't stand up to scrutiny..

Newcastle also denied a clear penalty irrespective of whether the defender getting there first, the keeper just can't come out and clobber you.

I wouldn't be mad about dishing out red cards, I think a yellow on each occasion would have done.

Jota was denied a stone wall penalty though, the referee's excuse to Klopp was a joke.

Alli's penalty was as stone wall as Jota's. Or maybe it's okay to push a man in the back? And in the same passage of play, Liverpool would not have scored their second goal without the aid of Salah's hand.

But here, VAR is riding Liverpool. So are referees.

There's none as blind as those who will not see.

Dag Dog

VAR helped Liverpool a lot previously, so it's probably a shock to their fans that they aren't getting the benefit of it any more.

Alli's was nowhere near the same as Jota's. He WAS looking for contact and was on his way down before Trent even touched him. It was a dive.

Salah's handball is not a foul. Last year it would have been. It SHOULD be a foul IMO, but those are the current (stupid) rules when it comes to handball.

Handball should go back to the way it was for a lifetime. Everyone knew what was and what wasn't allowed.

thewobbler

When anyone mutters things like "he was looking for it" as sound reason to justify their bias, I have to disengage.

A push in the back of a player in control of a football is a foul.

Winks was also cleaned out on the edge of the penalty area, maybe inside, without the whistle being blown.

It would be better for the sport if Scouse fans and their glorious leader Klopp could show a touch of magnanimity on occasions such as this and admit that, on balance, the debatable decisions at worst balanced themselves out.

This would not be a weakness. It would truly be a positive.
