Great news today that our own Kris Meeke from Dungannon has got a full works drive with Citroen in the World Rally Championship for 2014. His co-driver is Paul Nagle making it an all Irish team. This is the first time any Irish driver has had a drive of this standard and I wish him good luck.

Some going for a local lad.

Good going.  He has been there or there abouts for a while.

For anyone that is interested the all Irish team of Meeke/Nagle are laying second in WRC Rallye Monte Carlo after day one. Amazing going and I just hope they can keep the car on the road at that pace for the remaining 2 days.

see Ron Dennis is back at McLaren, apparently the chat is of Ross Brawn taking the team Principal gig...
Never underestimate the predictability of stupidity

Great to see Kris doing so well. Used to be fantastic viewing when he was on the local rallying scene.

Full on board footage with Kris on stage 3 yesterday. Epic stuff

next stop, September 10, for number 4......

Only 2 stages left with Kris and Paul currently in 3rd. Fantastic stuff from the 2 lads. For anyone that is interested the last stage is on live on BT sports at 8pm this evening. I expect results like this will lift the profile of rallying in Ireland. Great stuff ;D

Looks like a "dreachy" day in Donegal/Derry

In one of the most treacherous rallies I have ever watched in the World Rally Championship over the last 20 odd years our boys have finished 3rd. Only beaten by the current world champion and another French driver that lives on the stages. Amazing result for their first outing as works drivers.

Rally Sweden on this weekend. The only all snow event in the Championship. Kris and Paul are laying 9th after day one. No shame as he has never driven in snow event before in a WRC car and this is a learning weekend for him. Could still push into the top 6 which would be great.

Just watched your link. Great stuff

Many years ago I lived near there and had to drive part of that route once a week. Scary driving.

Best of luck to the lads

Ayrton Senna. IMO one of the best Sportsmen to have ever lived died 20 years ago today. I remember watching the event live. Was a sad tragic time.
