I could be wrong but I think Jackie Tyrell is still there. Joe Canning is there now as well in 1st year.

Halbert goal eases UCC home
14 February 2007

A goal by John Halbert after 20 minutes proved to be the pivotal score as UCC edged home by 1-10 to 0-12 against the Garda College in an absorbing Fitzgibbon Cup clash at Templemore.

Halbert's goal put the Cork-based side on the front foot but they had to survive a late run by the boys in blue before holding out for a deserved win.

UCC seemed to be cantering into the winners' enclosure but were nearly caught at the death but Michael Fitzgerald's free went narrowly wide.

UCC started slowly before kicking into gear with Halbert's major which saw them go 1-2 to 0-3 in front.

The Garda countered Halbert's goal with some neat points from Barry Nugent but UCC still headed them at the interval, 1-5 to 0-6.

The home side were hampered by the loss of Vincent Hurley early on but were still eyeing victory until a late Niall Moran point handed UCC victory.
