The Carr drove us well for a while. Get's more flak than he deserves.

I always think it's a measure of how far Roscommon have fallen that they look back on Tommy Carr's time in charge as some sort of golden era.

As I recall Mayo have never once rampaged through the entire Qualifiers. I'm sure we can put in a good word for you with Tom..

Jinxy, if you corner Pierce you might convince to give up this wild AFL craic and return home to Mother Hibernia.

Only if he's prepared to play for his native County not the one his silly local GAA club affiliate to.
Plenty of empty houses in Ros where we could get him a nice address with lovely views of the Shannon.

His parents are lovely Loughglynn people. I reckon this AFL craic is just a roundabout way by poor Pierce to prevent Ballagh GAA from stopping him playing for his county. Once biten, twice shy..  :-X

You'd swear Galway were a team of Goochs who just happened to take too many sleeping tablets. Counties fortunes can shift on a dime - look at Mayo's 2011 championship - but I have to imagine even a lot of Galway supporters groan at this notion that they have so much potential that a return to the top table is little less than a done deal. One step at a time, Martin.

Don't know where to put this so this'll do - Daft Punk's new album, Random Access Memories, is available for streaming on iTunes (and thus available to *ahem* own from other sources). One of the few music releases I was actually looking forward to and based on my first listen it doesn't disappoint. Lots of 70-80's dance/electronic/synth vibes. It's like a love letter to the roots of their music.

Hard to top Discovery in terms of impact but RAM will probably end up being regarded as one of their best.

GAA Discussion / Re: Eamonn O'Hara retires

Let's be fair, Big Emmo was a bit player at this stage and even though he managed to make an impact in the Connacht final he did look pretty upright and immobile.

If anyone knows what you need in the middle it's Walsh and he snagged a gem in James Kilkullen (who's going to have a far bigger say in how Sligo's season goes than EO would have) and sadly for such a great servant of Sligo it made O'Hara expendable, even as a bench player.

Tommy Carr, that's the jennet that I heard saying that Donegal wouldn't win an All Ireland because they didn't have the spread of scoring forwards!!!. Was he in a coma for the last year or what? Pat Spillane made a lick of sense because he said Donegal won't really know if they are up for it until the need to dig deep in a championship match.

I switched off after Carr said that, and Kevin McStay said the whole thing was a waste of time because Donegal, Dublin and Mayo were all going for 3 in a row. (Not sure if he reckons they are all going to win their provinces or not). Seems to have forgotten that we've had 4 different All Ireland Winners in 4 years.

It says a lot when Spillane seemed to be the most considered of them.

K-Mac's still working through the leftover champagne from Paddy's Day - lay off the poor lad, AZ.

Fcuk !!! :(
I hope we're not embarrassed again like 2009 or 2012 at the same stage.

RTE also televised our game v Galway in 2008.   :(

TV3 were nice enough to cover the 2010 Connacht final too  :P

Did you not expect such a huge provincial semi-final to be televised, buck?

Don't worry, we'll be ready for our close-up. 8)

So no live Ulster football final?

It's a new initiative by the GAA to show the sport in a better light  :-\

One of those is a born and bred Rosie:o

At least you have that lovely O'Heir's Cafe spud bread to claim as your own, Seanie.

Then what is he doing throwing his lot in for Sligo?

It's tough making a team of galaticos like Roscommon and that wasteral uncle Mickey must have been in ear.  :(

Even if his legs aren't what they were he has a football brain second to none. Exactly the sort of player that'll pop up with the crucial scores on a big day.
