Just looking at another shockingly low turn out in this election and you have to wonder do some people deserve the right to vote, this is a huge issue that effects Ireland greatly and on 40 - 45% of people decide to vote. And if i hear another idiot saying that they did not understand it so they didnt vote or voted No I think i will just lose it. Are people that focking lazy they cannot ready the booklet that was sent out to them or go on the internet and read about it there? IMO its fairly typical of modern working class Ireland that just read headlines or posters and make up there mind without know what the hell is going on!

I think it's unfair to say that people somehow don't deserve the vote. I know personally that in the last election I tried to get my vote changed from my home county of Mayo to Dublin 14(regrettably but what can you do when the government put an election on a Thursday). I had my change of vote form sent on the Wednesday(signed by garda, the lot) and was told even if it was sent by Friday it would be alright and I could vote up in Dublin.

To be honest I knew they'd mess it up. Come election, no polling card had arrived, went down to election center, not on register of elections. No vote. end of story. Unfortunately this was the case across the country where thousands of votes were messed up, a highlighted case in the papers of a Kilkenny man in his 70's been denied his vote after over 50 years voting because of a c**k up.

As I said earlier, having it on a Thursday, dosen't help. There are many students and young professionals who are registered in their home county and would prefer to keep it there.

For this referendum, its entirely my own fault as I did not go to change it again. I let it lie.

I think I'd nearly prefer to vote in Florida.

Obama’s involvement in the Ford Foundation, if the truth were revealed will also hurt.

I had a laugh at the statement by Obama regarding his formation of a research team in order to come up with his running mate. The Bilderberg Group are meeting this weekend in Chantilly Virginia to decide this along with their criminal moves for the year ahead. The Athens meeting did not happen, it was a decoy that did not fool the likes of Jim Tucker.

It’s hard to know which of the three stooges are worse, Evil Hillary is well known at this stage and McCain is no war hero, he happens to be the very opposite.

To save America and the world we have to hope for a Ron Paul miracle, it is still not too late for people to wake up.

Its not football, hybrid games generally don't survive. i cant see myself amking a re-appearance to watch these games again after the last series.

its is football, just like soccer rugby union/league or gaa. you just dont like it...
It isn't football, its a hybrid of gaelic football and aussie rules, went to see it in Croke Park, saw what I came to see and what everybody else came to see, fights, it was crap otherwise. Complete waste of time, don't know anybody that actually plays the sport outside of this so I don't see the point, to be honest the GAA look desperate the way they're hoping it'll continue

Looking forward to these gigs, even though I'm a big fan, wasn't bother going to go as I went in 2003 and thought the RDS is a really bad venue. Would prefer to see them indoors in some good venue.

But then I've done a complete about turn and got a ticket for the Thursday and just a few hours ago for the Sunday night. Anybody know what the story is with the pit, is it just on a first come first served basis when the doors open.

Maybe I am a bit old fashioned but I find the idea of communicating with senior players like Nallen and McDonald by SMS very unedifying. I woud have thought that over the past couple of months O'Mahony would have either met the senior players or spoken to them by phone to find out if they were available or to tell them straight out that he did not see them as part of his plans. These players deserve a degree of respect. It would have been good manners (and good politics) to speak with them.

Have to agree with you your comments Tatler, it is a bit unedifying to contact someone through text for a trial game, a phone call explaining the situation, whats expected, etc. Talk to the player on the phone or in person. This is all very messy. There's absolutely no reason that Ciaran Mc shouldn't have been automatically invited back on the panel, he has done enough over the years to deserve that.

I know it was inevitable Davitt Man that McDonald would stop playing for Mayo, sad though to see it happen. Would still like to see him back for the championship, still think he has a lot to offer.

General discussion / Re: World Cup or Sam Maguire?

Has to be Mayo winning an All-Ireland, at the end of the day it would mean so much to so many people in Mayo if we did. People have waited all their lifes for an All-Ireland. They haven't waited all their lifes for a World Cup.

From a 5 year old kid to a 90 year old granny, the joy that an All-Ireland would bring is across the board. At the end of the day, that's what its all about.

Messi has to be considered the best player in the world today, hardly puts a foot wrong, his touch is amazing, the economy of movement. He does seem to make a real difference in the games he plays, dunphy, giles & brady seem to like him which I couldn't exactly say about Ronaldo.......

I'm with pints on this, Johnson was an ignorant c*nt when he refused to move from that side of the pitch, showed a lot of disrespect towards the President. But then he got away with it because the Irish officials did f*ck all about it and the same with the Irish Team. They lost the psychological battle that day and looked weak. Johnson 1 Ireland 0. They also got hammered on the pitch.... Will he make a good manager, really can't tell, will have a lot of respect from the English players though.

Just finished Season 5 there last week as well, was the weakest of all the seasons but still brialliant television. If you're still on Season 3, then you've got the pleasure of Season 4 to look forward to(the highest ratest show on metacritic.com of the last four years), with out doubt the best show I've seen in my life.
