QuoteAs for the Galway Races ! Same thing. I wanted to get a train from Heuston Station in Dublin to Galway on Wednesday 1st August, a two hour train journey to Galway and then get the shuttle bus to Ballybrit.  The last train back to Dublin leaves at 6pm !!!  On a summers evening of one of the biggest race meetings in the country at peak tourist time and the last train to Dublin is at 6pm!!!

Just been on the news, the track is closed between Athlone and Galway for the day, a machine working on the tracks has broken down !

On another issue, anybody know of a horse running or not running called Dbest????

Talking to Mick the Rossie (Will I get a receipt? "Will ya fcuk") this morning) as in Baileys and he reckons it is in his own words 'the biz'!

Mick is seldom far off the mark, even though he got lost today in Galway and ended up out the sticks and missed the race!

Lads,

Booked tickets to the races months ago and now it's a super Sunday of hurling & football. To anyone that has been before do you think I would be able to catch parts of the matches at the races?

Shamrock Shore

Lads...........can I put this in here as I don't want to start a separate thread on it.

Galway Clare hurling being shown on big screens. Not sure about the football.

DickyRock

Cheers. I emailed them and all the GAA will be on the screens.
