General discussion / Re: Catholics in PSNI
March 31, 2009, 04:37:02 PM
All well and good having all these Catholics in the PSNI-however as has been pointed out how many are republicans and how many are Uncle Toms and Castle Catholics. Also god forbid the parades comission allows the OO down the Orm. Road or Garvaghy Road-would they be as happy as the RUC men who battered people of these roads in the past. That will be the big test-the PSNI have not been tested in this regard lets hope they never are. On a personal note I know 2 people who have joined...would not have let either of them near a gun!

Even if these guys didn't commit these murders (and their innocence is looking increasingly in doubt) then surely they are better of our streets anyway. I would put these guys away for life if i had evidence that they had involvement in any of these dissidents groups. So i won't come on here and defend them because they are trying theri upmost to return our society to war and bloodshed. So i couldn't really care less if these guys rot in detention centres but they are clearly involved in dissident behaviour of which i cannot support. Now i am not saying blame them in wrong but under the terrorism act they have still committed a crime as they are members of a terrorist organisation, so they should be sentenced accordingly, leaving the rest of us the peace to get on with things.

unless you know the facts your better saying nothing,so because these men have been lifted you think they must be involved?nothing to do with the fact that some of the men lifted have high profiles and will draw alot of media attention and the psni seem to be doing somthing.one man was lifted just on reputation alone.nothing to do with the fact he has not been invovled in dissidents (which the papers confirmed) but you think this man should be given life!it's people like you who really wind me up,sit behind your computer in your own wee world who have never been affected by the troubles and havent a clue.

Drumanee if i went on to tell you my families involvement in the troubles i would embarass you . So please refrain from trying to take pot shots at people you clearly know nothing about or the history of their family.

Secondly i know nothing about the behaviour of the individuals in questions and like most of the people on this board i am only going on hearsay. I live in the lurgan area and have witnessed the shite that has been going on this past year or so and it is a disgrace. It cannot be justified imo because certain individuals claim it is to free Ireland. There have been several arrests over these murders and once again i will make it categorically clear i am not for one minute saying that these lads carried out these crimes because i simply don't know. But what i am saying is that the police forces must have something on some of them. I would have no objections to the police going out and arresting 50 or 60 members who they know are involved in dissident behaviour (this is not the same as saying the current guys are guilty) I despise these dissidents and all they stand for. they claim to be working to free Ireland whilst at the same time wrecking havoc around their own areas and shooting a catholic police man dead. Do they not understand that we have a peace process and through Sinn Fein are working towards a United Ireland through a peaceful strategy. It is people coming out and being sympathtic towards their cause that is giving them more leeway. If our communty came out and said we don't want these guys in society it would be a better place. If this involves arresting and detaining all that are involved then so be it.

Why do you not say that you support interrment-sure was it not a success the first time around?

He's charged with possession of the murder weapon so they're bound to have some evidence against him  ???

Fitzroyality

Sure they had evidence against Chris Ward and Sean Hoey did they not? Because someone is charged does not mean there is evidence

I stand corrected-I had read that he had not attended the mass as he was at another funeral in the Irisn News.

Simpson was definitely there, and the reports i saw mentioned DUP members plural.

Not according to the papers-he was at a different funeral-Jimmy Spratt was there -MLA for South Belfast former RUC man and general half wit. I think he is on the poilcing board-certainly none of thier big names attended

General discussion / Re: Where to get rid of coins?

Pints

All coins where counted and sorted into correct amounts in each bag there was no need for them to do anything other than weigh the bags if they wanted to-I just got rid of £50 in silver-just 30 pounds in 1p and 2p bags and 2 bags with a fiver each in 10p's!!

General discussion / Where to get rid of coins?
March 14, 2009, 10:12:21 AM
Folks Can anyone help

I have collected, counted and bagged some £90 of coins(1,2,5 and 10p)  which I was going to deposit in the bank and take the money out to buy the kids some treats. However When I arrived at the nationwide this morning I was informed that I could only deposit 5 bags-no good considering I had 40 coin bags with me. Where can I get rid of the other bags-bloody annoyed that I can't put money into my own account needless to say the staff where not much help!

I follow no religion they are all the same nonsense. I used the word as it is how the OO describe those of the Catholic faith.
I again raise the point is a compatible to carry out your civil function as an elected rep if you are a member of a society that hates the religion of at least 40% of the population?

Thats an easy question he has no support-if his party gets the votes they will be interviewed. They and their flawed Eire Nua policy are best ignored-Ruairi is an embittered old man-he lost in 1986. Thats when any respect I had for him went.

Lets look at the facts the OO does not allow its members to take part in "PApish worship" Trimble was nearly hauled over the coals about attending the funerals of the Omagh dead. Maybe Tony should have asked the question is membership of the OO compatable with being a public rep-after all in may entail attending a Catholic service. Lets not forget a TUV member left a school service and dragged his child of stage as soon as a Catholic priest took part in a Christmas service.
Unionism and Orangism needs to end its ambivalence towards the Catholic faith-now is the chance!

Tony asks a valid question-no worse than the point scoring that the Unionist politicans and the media have. Nobody as far as I know on this board has condemned the politicans and the brit Media for the line of Questioning they have put to SF regarding brits back on our street and thier emotions towards the killing of the troops. What did they expect Gerry and Martin to cry!!

Under no circumstances should the British army be allowed back onto the  streets as someone who has suffered 2 beatings at the hands of these paragons of virtue I say they have no role in policing any society. Law and Order is the domain of an accountable police force. I have laughed this last 2 days at unionist and the Brit media trying to force SF into stating they want to see the BA back. Of course they do not no Irish Republican wants them back on the streets.
Can somebody give me one good news story that the SRR where involved with? Only one-I mean this is the crowd responsible for Brian Nelson-

I would like to ask him when he is going to retract the lies he told about Eugene Reavey in the House of commons and issue an apology for the very hurtful remarks. To say Paisley is a Christian would be in my opinion to compare Hitler to a Jew. He may not have pulled the trigger but there is blood on his hands

Charlie

Ted Hankey was available at 40-1 proir to the start of the world championship (BDO).
There was a few on the dart's boards that had him-he also likes a punt himself so he may have had a few bob on himself
