Regardless, on the the image itself which has no relevance to the argument. Take a sec and look how closely all the clubs up round us are clustered in the east, and the clubs year on year produce talent. A number of us are in Div 1 aswell, remarkable. Compared to the westies, who only have a handful of div 1 teams.

Population density is the answer here - due largely to proximity to Lough Neagh - Although dont let that get in the way of an east/west Tyrone debate!  ;D
And some of the population up there very dense.

Probably worth posting this up - taken from the Tyrone GAA county website all the way back to 1999!

Dodgy map

Well for a start:

Omagh and Killyclogher look mixed up
Drumragh pitch is way on out in Clannabogan not sure when they moved was probably after 99 TBF
Errigal's pitch is in Dunmoyle

Both Augher (v Owen Roes) and Strabane (v loughmacrory) have conceded today's games in intermediate. Strange enough as both teams have something to play for with Augher still in with chance of promotion play offs and Strabane not safe from being caught in relegation play off.

Not condoning the teams conceding games but let's be honest we're asking amateurs to give up their free time, including at least 2 evenings and most of their Sunday's for the best part of a year. It's not surprising that people decide against committing more of their time come the end of the year. Honestly can't see the current GAA fixture structure as sustainable and it'll most likely lead to clubs fielding less and less and possibly lead to the organisation relying on young, single people with few commitments to keep it going. It's unfair to ask people with children, businesses and responsibilities to keep giving of their own time and resources for such a long season. Just my opinion.

That concession by Strabane hands Loughmacrory promotion to Division 1 and possibly a league title. They would likely win the game anyhow if played but I'm sure those guys wouldn't have wanted it confirmed without having to take to the field.
Living the dream!!!

Not over yet, Lough still need at least a point from last game v Beragh to go up. If Galbally win today and last game they'll win the league. If Lough lose against Beragh and Pomeroy win then Pomeroy will finish a point ahead of the Lough in second place. If lough draw and Pomeroy win then Lough still go up on head to head result.

Huge result at the bottom this afternoon. Beragh scored a late goal and point to beat Cookstown with Newton beating Gortin. This brings them level on points. Cookstown got galbally last and Newtown away to Moortown. Even If they both get beat Cookstown drop to Junior as they were beat by Newton a few weeks back.

No they don't, Cookstown would play off with newton with the loser going straight down and the winner playing the playoff winner in junior.

Ah right, I thought it was bottom 2 down and third last plays play off winner from div3

Norf Tyrone

5 teams on 13 points for the last play off spot and potentially 4 teams tied at 10 for the final relegation places.

With 3 games conceeded this season scoring difference unlikely to apply!

The play off final will be a curtain raiser to the McKenna Cup.

most of the augher team away on a stag. No interest in games this time of year. Should have been played July/August

Leagues need to be finished finished before championship first round or at least the regular programme of fixtures outside of play offs etc. More starred games required - clubs will have to like it or lump it.

Sure all the starred games weren't used this year!

Why? So seasons stretched out to November is what players want?? Back to pre season a few weeks after that to repeat the cycle.
