Quote from: Taylor on January 19, 2024, 10:06:13 AMEnjoy the first 10 years lads and lassies.

Because after that the fun period stops in my opinion. The real world starts to appear on their horizon and the innocence of life for them slowly starts to disappear

There is definitely a real magic period between 3 and 7 where they say and do the most amazing things.

Dropped our youngest off at primary school a few weeks ago, she is 7.  When crossing the road I grabbed her hand and she pulled it a away as in her head no doubt she is too cool now to be seen holding her Father's hand......I was devastated.

Yeah I'm in the same position there.
Our 7 year old is also the last one who'll be waiting on Santa and it'll break my heart when that part of christmas is gone!

My 7 year old still holds my hand on walk down to school and it doesn't enter his head what anyone might think.
Sometimes, for a moment, I think maybe it's time he stopped holding my hand, but then I realise that it might never happen again 😞
And he's such a happy lad, I'm going to enjoy it for as long as it lasts.

Quote from: onefineday on January 21, 2024, 08:40:52 AMI'm surprised these games are still on. Weather in Dublin is pretty awful at the minute, rain is coming in sideways and it's going to get worse with warnings around travel to issue both north and south shortly after game times. I'm not sure how this isn't postponed on public safety grounds for spectators apart from any considerations re the spectacle we'll have to endure.

Was thinking the same myself. If they were going to postpone they'd want to do it ASAP or they'd be pissing off an awful lot of people who'd already be on the road.

Few great shots from McIlroy now, and he's one up with 1 to play.

Quote from: Ghost on January 14, 2024, 11:24:35 AMJust happened to turn over to the golf there with McIlroy on the 14th green. Some stinker from him. 3 putted from about 2 feet.

Same - turned it on just as he was taking that putt. I'd have got that one myself.
Great birdie on following hole though

Quote from: imtommygunn on January 12, 2024, 04:55:32 PMSurely you need an audit trail though and surely there is some kind of process to go through before you change it?

Exactly, it's understandable that live data needed to be changed to correct it as a result of a bug, but the changes should have to go through an approval process that can be audited.
Even if the changes can be tracked on the live systems themselves after all this time, the change approval process/system should still have a record of the changes.

Quote from: tbrick18 on January 09, 2024, 05:34:43 PMA lot will depend on the approach Kerry take to the league or what players available.
I think last year the cliffords and Sean O'Shea were missing in the early parts of the league.
Tyrone even beat them!  ;)

For Derry, if we can retain Div1 status that will be a win.
We'll need some early wins as teams will get stronger as the league goes on (but then everyone will be targeting early wins so there's nothing insightful there).

For what it's worth, I'd currently rate the teams in this order but you can never rule Tyrone/Monaghan out and Derry could also really struggle with tough games early in the year, though hopefully not:

1. Kerry
2. Dublin
3. Galway
4. Derry
5. Mayo
6. Roscommon
7. Tyrone
8. Monaghan

Poor aul Mayo , even when we go to their backyard and knock them out of the championship , beat them in a league final in croke park and were still considered inferior to the aristocrats/fancy dans

Always been the way. Sure Colm O'Rourke tipped Galway the day we beat them by 90 points (or something like that), when Andy Moran came off the bench after his cruciate to get the 4th goal.

US/UK very quick to act when shipping routes are affected. Not so much when thousands of economically insignificant Palestinians are killed

Quote from: imtommygunn on January 11, 2024, 08:40:56 PMCould surely grab the ip address and track it back though. Difficult but not impossible.

The events happened 20 years ago though, that level of detail is probably long gone.

Quote from: Rossfan on January 07, 2024, 04:48:51 PMRochford/McHale no doubt had their A and B squads playing challenge games on grass somewhere.

Presume you mean McStay. McHale left after last years championship - "completely different philosophy on football" I believe the reason was.

What county inflicted The Tumbling Paddy's upon us?
I'm going to guess Tyrone.
Jesus they'd want to stop that singer with his faux American country accent, it's terrible shite

Quote from: From the Bunker on December 04, 2023, 10:10:00 PMHaunted was done originally by The Pogues with Cait O'Riordan doing co-vocals for the Sid And Nancy original soundtrack.

I always thought the re-recording was pointless, as it virtually mimicked the original, and I much rather Cait's vocals.

Haunted is a great  song , but I just  can't tolerate Sinead O' Connor's voice on it

I do like  Cait O'Riordan singing on 'I'm a man you don't meet everyday' though.

Other way round for me.
Lisa O'Neil did a great job on Fairytale of New York today

I'd happily take an opportunity to give a dig at Galway teams, but I wouldn't say a word against Gary Sice today. To be still playing at his age and after all he's been through deserves nothing but respect.
Brigids were very good, O'Carroll is a top forward, Stack was outstanding, they look very hungry, hopefully they go another couple of steps.

Jaysis Marty Morrissey isn't great at hiding his bias. No reaction when O'Loughlin Gaels score, but each Crokes score treated like a thing of beauty.
